━━━ Ever since that time Jinx lost her temper in Benzo's shop, Clove has been intrigued by what exactly it is that makes her tick. What causes her need to blow up everything close to her just like those uniquely designed bombs of hers? And whose voice was it that drove her right along the edge of a destructive bridge?
She was lucky that she hadn't been a victim of it. But how long till she does? What happens when those bullets don't nearly graze her, but puncture her?
Jinx had thought about it once. Meanwhile, Clove found herself thinking about it right this moment. While their legs wandered back into the familiar streets of Zaun with the stolen goods on her back. That usual stench of sewer and dull sight of run-down stores invading her senses again.
Her black eyes focused on Jinx's face. That vulnerable expression she had when she opened up about proving Silco wrong was long gone. Now replaced with a playful and assured one.
She also noticed how Jinx had her own enthusiastic way of walking. How her blue braids and hips swayed while her hands twirled Zapper expertly. There was a curious gleam in her eyes as she kept them focused on her surroundings. But Clove doubted she was actually paying attention and instead was lost in her thoughts.
Why has she never wanted to analyze somebody as deeply as she wants to with Jinx? Why did the idea of tearing her apart and taking her time figuring out why she does what she does excite her so much? She wasn't sure, but what she did know was that it scared her.
After a couple more minutes of silent-walking...Well, not really silent-walking because Jinx kept mumbling things to herself, but it was quiet for Clove. They finally came upon her boss's hideout. It was an old and abandoned cannery farther away from the more populated areas of Zaun.
"Know-it-alls first." Jinx smiled teasingly as she held the entrance door open. A hand confidently placed on her hip.
Clove lightly glared at her──an expression that made Jinx smirk──before walking inside with Squeak on her shoulders. She didn't really take the nickname as an insult. She liked being called smart no matter how you word it.
