Khalia just finished packing away the rest of her belongings in the apartment she's rented and is sat at her kitchen island eating lunch. while watching Saiki K on her iPad, she receives a phone call from her manager- Hugo.

He was an older man, and she saw him like an uncle figure. he's been working with her ever since she got her a role in her first project at 16 years old. overtime he's become part of her family, helping her with tasks both in her personal and public life.

She pauses her series and answers her phone, placing it near her ear as she walks over to the sink with her empty bowl.

"Khalia, how you doin' kid?"

"Hey Hugo i've finally finished unpacking how are you."

"i'm good, i'm good. i just dropped Steph off at her ballet class, how did unpacking go?"

"it was surprisingly okay, it took me a few hours but luckily i started quite early."

"oh okay, i just wanted to let you know that i just got a phone call from Luca Guadagnino."

The young woman froze and her lips became slightly parted.

"Hugo, I swear if you're lying I'm actually going to kill myself."

"I swear."

"Wha- ho- what did he say?"

"He said that he's just finished writing a script for a new coming of age film, which he wants to record in Sicily during the spring. Luca also said that before he even started writing the script, he pictured you as the lead female character. So what do you think."

"Are you kidding, of course. Hugo I actually can not believe this like this feels like a dream."

"I told you kid, all you had to do was get back out there once you were ready and all of your dreams and hopes will find their way to you."

"Thank you for believing in me all this time Hugo, I really appreciate it."

"Of course, but I'll speak to you later as I need to call Luca back. I'll keep you updated as soon as I find out any next steps. Have a good day kid."

"Goodbye Hugo, tell Steph I said hey."

"Of course, bye bye."

The young woman placed her phone on the kitchen island and dried her hands on the hand towel. She smiled to herself, remembering how much joy and freedom acting provided her with. It was an escape, a chance to showcase all her best skills and bring someone else's dreams to life.

She always dreamed of working with to Luca, she was meant to be in one of his projects a few years back but Khalia suffered from a few personal issues which put her acting career on pause. This is why she disappeared from the social media scene, not wanting to affect her work ability due to her own personal issues interfering with the quality of work she could produce, but of course social media pages created their own stupid stories and theories as to where she had gone.
