-Wednesday, 4:00 PM-

"What is so important that made you two buffoons come visit me?" Maki drawls as she begrudgingly invites you and Nobara into her house.

The both of you rush to her bedroom, giggling excitedly and ignoring the textbooks, worksheets and other obvious signs of studying on her desk.

She strolls into her room a moment later, an unimpressed expression on her face. "This is something important right...?"

You nod eagerly, "Yes! Super important...so this morning Megumi told me-"

"Ughhh, This is about Megumi!? I thought you said it was important!" She protests.

Nobara chimes in, "It is important, just listen to what happened, it's crazyyy!!!"

Maki sighs impatiently, "...fine hurry it up."

You explain to her the cryptic words said during your encounter with Megumi that morning.

But to your surprise and Nobara's, her face remains unfazed.

Finally, she speaks, "That's it?...He was probably just talking about work you didn't finish."

"No he wasn't!" You and Nobara yelled in unison.

"Ok but then how did he know about that if you just imagined it?" She asks genuinely.

This room gets silent until Nobara shares her theory. "Maybe it was real...how else would he know? Unless he can read minds-"

"He can't." You immediately stop her snowballing train of thought.

Maki thinks for a moment before questioning you, "What happened after you...snapped out of your delusion?

You wince at her choice of words, "First of all, it's imagination, not delusion. And second...I don't really remember, I just went back to sitting in my seat while he was talking."

Nobara hums, "Hm...so we're dealing with the supernatural-"

"No we're dealing with the clinically insane-" Maki retorts.

"I am neither of those things!" You defend yourself against the accusations (false accusations).

Maki chuckles slightly, "I know I know, but on the bright side, maybe this is a sign he's interested in you..."

You can't contain a smile as you blush, "Well maybe...I hope so."

"So you're done with Yuuta then?" Maki raises an eyebrow.

"Uh...no I...I'm not sure, I really like him I just..."

"Like Megumi more?" Nobara winks as she asks you.

You think of the two of them and while Yuuta is a great guy, you can't help but notice the fluttering butterflies that appear in your stomach when Megumi is on your mind.

After a couple seconds, you answer her as honestly as possible.

"Maybe...yes."

Walking around the lunch room, you keep an eye out for Megumi.

He usually sits alone to the far end in a corner.
