The rain pattered gently against the windows of the cozy apartment, creating a serene backdrop to the warmth inside. The scent of freshly baked cookies filled the air as Y/n stood at the counter, a mixer in hand, carefully folding ingredients into the batter. Behind her, the faint sound of children's laughter mixed with the soft hum of the television as Jun Ha and Moon Jo played in the living room.

Jun Ha, her four-year-old daughter, suddenly paused in her game. She clutched her stuffed bear and padded over to her mother, her tiny feet making soft thuds on the wooden floor. Hugging Y/n's legs tightly, she began to whine, her voice soft and pleading.

"Mom, when do you think Daddy will get home? It's been two days now." she pouted, looking up with big, teary eyes. Her grip tightened, as if her small arms could pull her father back home faster.

Y/n set the mixer down, her heart aching at the sight of her daughter's longing. She crouched down to Jun Ha's level, brushing a strand of hair from the little girl's face. "Appa might come home today, honey. Did you miss your Appa, hmm?" she asked softly, her voice filled with warmth.

Jun Ha's pout deepened before her face lit up with a bright grin. "I miss Appa so, so much! Me and Moon Jo even made a drawing for him!" She giggled, holding up a piece of paper. The drawing depicted their family, with her father in his police uniform, Y/n wearing a crown, and the words "Welcome Back Appa!" scrawled across the top.

Y/n chuckled, ruffling her daughter's hair. "You're so good at this. I think Appa will love it." she said, her smile widening as she admired the innocent creativity of her children.

She glanced over at Moon Jo, her six-year-old son, who was deeply engrossed in his video game, his brows furrowed in concentration. Looking back at Jun Ha, she wrapped her arms around her daughter in a comforting hug. "Why don't you go back to the living room and play with your brother, hmm? Appa will be here before you know it."
