[Voiceover]
My siblings and I are the first vampires in history, the Originals. Three centuries ago, we helped build the great city of New Orleans, shaping it into something extraordinary. Back then, we were content-united as a family. But things have changed. Recently, a coven of witches lured my brother back, using his unborn child as leverage. I did everything I could to help him, but in the end, he betrayed me to his enemy-Marcel, the vampire ruler of this city. Since then, I've been held captive by a powerful witch. My brother seeks to manipulate others to secure my release, but I have my own plan. If this witch proves to be an adversary, I will destroy her-by any means necessary.

Klaus paced back and forth in the kitchen of Rousseau's, his anger palpable as he muttered under his breath. The empty restaurant, once alive with the clatter of dishes and chatter of patrons, now felt suffocating in its silence. He felt a deep sense of betrayal, the weight of broken promises heavy on his shoulders. The tension in the air was thick, almost tangible. He knew he was being watched by the very walls, the very city that he helped shape-and it was closing in around him.

The door creaked open, and Sophie stepped into the room, holding a basket of fresh produce. She froze for a moment at the sight of Klaus, his dark gaze burning into her. He didn't give her a chance to speak. With a sudden movement, he grabbed her, his grip unyielding, and, using his vampire speed, whisked her away to the plantation house.

Sophie barely had time to register her surroundings before Klaus unceremoniously dropped her onto the couch in the grand living room. Rebekah and Lilith were already there, their eyes locked on Sophie, the air thick with suspicion.

The silence that followed was oppressive.

Finally, Klaus spoke, his voice low but filled with venom. "We had a deal. You protect my unborn child, and I dismantle Marcel's army. I've honored my side of the bargain, and yet, while I've been busy fulfilling my part, you allowed Hayley to be attacked-nearly killed-by a pack of deranged witches."

Sophie's face paled, and she shook her head in panic. "I had nothing to do with it, I swear. Hayley and I are linked, remember? If she dies, I die."

Lilith narrowed her eyes, her voice dripping with confusion. "Then who were they?"

Sophie drew in a shaky breath, trying to steady her nerves. "They're a faction of extremists. Sabine... she made the mistake of sharing a vision she had about the baby."

Klaus's eyes flashed with suspicion. "What kind of vision?"

Sophie hesitated for a moment, as if weighing her words carefully. "She has these visions all the time-totally open to interpretation. I'm guessing she's wrong on this one."

"Wrong?" Klaus leaned in, his voice a growl. "How was this one interpreted?"

Sophie's voice dropped to a whisper, her reluctance evident. "She saw that your baby would bring death to all witches."

Klaus smirked, a dark glint in his eyes. "Ah, I grow fonder of this child every day."

Rebekah stepped forward, her posture defensive but calm. "Sophie, look, I promised Elijah I'd protect the Mikaelson miracle-baby while he works on gaining Davina's loyalty. Why don't you tell me just how extreme this faction really is?"

Sophie's eyes widened, her face a picture of shock. "Elijah's talking to Davina?"

Rebekah nodded, crossing her arms over her chest. "Yeah, as we speak, I imagine."

Sophie looked lost for a moment, trying to process the information, before her gaze dropped to the floor. She took a deep breath, as if preparing herself for the weight of what she was about to say. When she spoke again, her voice was quieter, tinged with an unfamiliar honesty. "I... wasn't always an advocate for the witches."
