Scene 1: Dinner and a Bombshell
The warm aroma of Chinese food filled the air as Tejasswi and Karan sat on the couch, their plates balanced on their laps. The dogs were sprawled on the carpet, blissfully dozing. It was almost peaceful, and for a moment, Tejasswi thought the evening would pass without any arguments.“This is good,” Karan commented, gesturing to the food. “You always order the best.”
She smiled lightly, twirling her noodles. “Sunny, I’ve been doing this for years. You only realized it now?”
Karan chuckled, but his next words broke the calm. “By the way, I’ve got a Bigg Boss shoot later tonight.”
Tejasswi froze, her chopsticks pausing mid-air. “Tonight?”
“Yeah,” he replied casually, not noticing her expression. “They want me to promote Celebrity Laughter Chef. It’s just a quick segment.”
Her appetite vanished instantly. “So, you’re leaving tonight?”
Karan glanced at her, sensing the change in her tone. “It’s just a shoot, Teju. I’ll be back in a few hours.”
She placed her plate on the table, her voice calm but with an undercurrent of hurt. “I thought we’d spend some time together. I mean, I came here tonight because...” She stopped herself, shaking her head.

Scene 2: Tejasswi’s Hidden Disappointment
“Teju, you knew I have work commitments,” Karan said, setting his plate down. “It’s not like I can just cancel.”“I’m not asking you to cancel, Sunny,” she said, her voice firm but quiet. “But you could’ve told me earlier. I planned this evening thinking we’d have time, and now, suddenly, you’re leaving.”
Karan sighed, leaning back. “It’s work, Teju. I don’t understand why you’re making it such a big deal.”
She looked at him, her disappointment evident. “I’m not making it a big deal, Sunny. It’s just... I thought I mattered enough for you to prioritize us tonight.”
His brows furrowed. “So, now you’re saying I don’t prioritize you? That’s unfair, Teju.”
“I’m not saying that,” she said, standing up. “But can’t you see how this feels? Like no matter what I try to do, something else always takes precedence.”

Scene 3: Attempting to Explain
Karan stood up, stepping closer to her. “Teju, I don’t want you to feel like that. But this shoot is important. It’s about the show, and I can’t just skip it.”She met his gaze, her eyes searching his face. “And what about us? Aren’t we important enough to make a little time for?”
“Of course, you are!” he said, his voice rising slightly before he caught himself. He softened his tone. “But, Teju, you’re leaving tomorrow for Nepal. You’ve got your commitments, too. I never question them.”
“That’s because I try to include you in my plans, Sunny,” she countered. “I wanted to spend tonight with you, and now... now I feel like it doesn’t even matter to you.”
---
Scene 4: A Moment of Realization
Her words struck a chord, and for a moment, Karan didn’t know how to respond. He sighed, running a hand through his hair. “Teju, I’m not trying to hurt you. I just... I thought you’d understand.”She nodded slowly, her eyes glistening. “I always try to understand, Sunny. But sometimes, it feels like I’m the only one trying.”
“Don’t say that,” he murmured, stepping closer. “You know that’s not true.”
She looked down, her voice barely audible. “It feels like it sometimes.”
---
Scene 5: The Departure
“I guess there’s no point in dragging this tonight,” she said, grabbing her bag. “You’ve got your shoot, and I’ve got... nothing, apparently.”“Teju, don’t do this,” Karan said, his voice soft but urgent.
She turned back, her expression unreadable. “I’m not doing anything, Sunny. I just need to go home.”
Karan hesitated but didn’t stop her as she walked toward the door. “Teju,” he called out one last time.
She paused but didn’t turn around. “Good luck with your shoot,” she said quietly before stepping out.

Scene 6: Alone Again
Karan stood in the empty living room, the silence almost deafening. The warmth of the evening had vanished, replaced by a hollow ache. He glanced at the half-finished plates of food and the dogs, who now seemed restless. He sat down, running his hands over his face. Why does this keep happening? Why can’t we just have one night without all the misunderstandings?

Scene 7: Tejasswi’s Drive Home
Tejasswi drove home, her hands gripping the steering wheel tightly. She tried to push away the sting of their argument, but her mind replayed his words, her disappointment growing with every passing minute.“I try so hard, Sunny,” she whispered to herself, tears brimming in her eyes. “Why can’t you see that?”
Her phone buzzed, but she didn’t look at it. She needed space—space to process her feelings and the growing uncertainty about what tomorrow would bring.

Scene 8: Lingering Fear
Both of them lay awake that night, the same question echoing in their minds: Are we drifting apart, or will we find a way back to each other before it’s too late? The unspoken fear lingered, casting a shadow over what could have been a perfect evening. Neither knew how the next day would unfold or if they’d be able to bridge the gap between them before Tejasswi’s flight.
