THE SUN had set, casting the world in soft, velvety darkness as Lando and Gianna walked back to their villa from dinner. The night air was warm, carrying the faint scent of the sea and the distant hum of cicadas. Gianna had her arm linked with Lando's, her heels in her free hand, and her laughter echoed softly as he joked about the overly ambitious dessert he'd ordered but couldn't finish.

As they reached the path leading toward the house, Lando slowed his steps. "Hey," he said, his voice lower and softer than usual. "There's something I want to show you. You up for a little walk?"

Gianna tilted her head, curiosity lighting up her features. "Another surprise?"

"Always," he said, grinning as he took her hand.

They veered off the main path and followed a trail that led down toward the beach. The sand was cool beneath their feet, and the waves lapped gently against the shore. Gianna walked beside him, her fingers intertwined with his, her heart calm and full.

They stopped near the water, where the moon cast a silvery glow on the ocean. Lando turned to face her, his eyes holding an intensity that made her chest tighten in the best way.

"Do you remember the first time we went to the beach together?" he asked.

Gianna smiled, her mind drifting back. "Of course. You almost fell trying to impress me with your surfing skills."

"Key word: almost," he teased, making her laugh. But his smile softened as he continued. "I remember thinking that day how easy it felt being around you. How right it felt."

She looked up at him, her heart beating a little faster. "You're being sentimental," she teased lightly, though her voice was tinged with affection.

"Maybe," he admitted, his thumb brushing gently over her knuckles. "But I mean it. Every moment with you feels right. Even the tough ones."

Before she could respond, he glanced toward a narrow path leading away from the beach, dimly lit by small lanterns. "Come on. There's one more thing I want to show you."

Her curiosity deepened, and she let him guide her along the path, which wound through a grove of olive trees. As they walked, the faint glow of string lights came into view, illuminating rows of grapevines that stretched out under the night sky.

Gianna gasped softly, taking in the scene. It was like something out of a dream—twinkling lights strung overhead, casting a golden glow on the vineyard, with a small clearing in the middle where a blanket was spread out. A chilled bottle of wine sat nearby, along with a small vase of white roses.
