I liked going on missions, mostly because of the thrill I got from them. Today, we finally had the confirmation we've been waiting on from our scouts back at my old base. Silco had been transporting Shimmer domestically, alongside sending it abroad. We found out that he had secret buyers in Piltover — and I thought that place couldn't get anymore corrupted.

The Firelight's all had masks and voice changers to hide our identities. Ekko managed to salvage an old owl mask from Benzo's shop a couple years ago, and the rest of the masks were made by ceramic materials we found. Scar's was a Wolf, Ruby's was a Hyena, and others had a variety of animals like Foxes, Crow plague masks, etc.

Not to brag or anything, but I always thought mine was the best. It was similar to Ekko's, but it was actually a different type of Owl — a Buff-Fronted Owl. Ekko said it was fitting because their particular species were actually found to have Heterochromia Iridis, like me.

And the best thing of all, I had actually painted around the eye sockets with some green and brown neon spray paint he gave me, making the two eye colours glow to match my own. Pretty cool, right?

Currently, we were all hidden on top of the nearest rooftop by a goods warehouse near the loading docks, waiting for Silco's goons to arrive with the Shimmer since this place was their rendezvous point.

We all split into two groups, each led by me and Ekko. I really valued how much he trusted me on these missions, knowing I was more than capable, whether it was leading a small group of us on my own, or being there by his hide.

My group were in charge of keeping an eye on the Shimmer, and to help take out anyone from above as extra defence for Ekko's group when they ambush.

"So, you gonna tell me what happened last night?" Ruby asked from beside me, catching me off guard.

I kept my gaze forward and shrugged. "What happened last night?" I played dumb.

From the corner of my eye, I saw Ruby shake her head. "I don't know, you tell me. You two were the ones who came out of his room looking all suspicious and shit."

I groaned. "Nothing happened, seriously. You guys made sure of that.." I muttered at the end.

"What?"

"Just, stay focused, we've got a job to do," I quickly shut down the conversation, not wanting the flashbacks of last night's events to distract me. I'd be a flustered mess.

She hummed sharply. "I'll find out sooner or later."

I let out a breath of relief, watching her get back into position with her makeshift sniper.

A couple minutes later, I saw a group of men approaching the site with a wooden cart that had a tarp over it. Using a spyglass, I could just about see the purple glow underneath, confirming it was the drug.

I gave a signal to the rest of the Firelights around me and pointed to the huge cart. "Shimmer's here, ready your defences."

My group of eight, including me and Ruby, all pointed our respective weapons to the ground, watching the business transaction closely.
