As the weeks passed by, the peaceful vacation and family time were now replaced by routine. Amira, now eight years old, was gearing up for an important exam at school.
It was her first big test, and Thalia and Shubman were both keen to support her, though they tried to keep things as stress-free as possible for her.
Amira had been studying diligently, and despite her usual excitement and energy, there was a noticeable seriousness in the way she approached this exam.
Thalia would often sit with her in the evenings, helping with practice tests and reviewing lessons, while Shubman made sure to provide a calming environment, balancing his own work with spending time with her.
The day of the exam arrived. Amira had been up early, dressed in her school uniform — a crisp white blouse, navy blue skirt, and black shoes.
Her hair was tied in a neat ponytail, and she wore a light blue ribbon that Shubman had bought for her during one of their trips.
She was visibly nervous, biting her lip as she sat at the breakfast table, stirring her cereal absentmindedly.
"Everything's going to be okay, my little champ," Shubman said gently, giving her a reassuring smile as he sat next to her.
"You've worked hard, and we're proud of you no matter what."
Thalia sat across from them, nodding in agreement. "Absolutely. You're going to do great, Amira. But remember, it's just a test. Don't put too much pressure on yourself."
Amira looked up at them, her eyes wide. "I'm a little nervous... What if I don't do well?"
Thalia reached over and cupped her daughter's face in her hands, making her look into her eyes.
"Sweetheart, we know you've been working hard. You don't need to worry about being perfect. Just do your best, and that's enough."
Shubman added, "And we'll be here to help you, no matter what. We believe in you."
Amira nodded, taking a deep breath as she stood up and grabbed her schoolbag. She hesitated for a second and then turned to her parents. "Thanks, Mom and Dad."
Thalia smiled warmly, her heart swelling with love. "You've got this."
After Amira left for school, Thalia and Shubman both went about their day.
