CANVAS OF US ? . ???. ??
When Amora Morgan, a 15-year-old rising star from America, joins a prestigious acting academy in Brussels as an exchange student, she's eager to prove herself in a new world far from home. There, she crosses paths with Mar...
Amora sat cross-legged on her bed, her laptop open and a cup of tea balanced on the nightstand. The soft glow of fairy lights strung across her dorm added warmth to the room. She scrolled through her camera roll, selecting the perfect photos from a recent shoot she had done back in LA.

Amora laughed softly as she scrolled through the chaos. Seeing the supportive comments from Lou and Marius warmed her heart, and the excitement from fans was contagious.
-
Later that afternoon, Amora walked into the academy's creative lab, her laptop tucked under her arm. Lou and Marius were already there, seated at a large table scattered with notebooks, markers, and snacks.
"Hey, superstar," Lou greeted, grinning. "Your Instagram has my notifications blowing up."
Amora rolled her eyes but smiled. "You started it with your comment."
Marius looked up, a small smirk playing on his lips. "Fans seem to think we're planning a collaboration."
"Well, they're not wrong," Amora quipped, sliding into a chair.
The trio got to work, brainstorming ideas for their short film. The theme they had settled on was connections—how people, even strangers, are linked in unexpected ways.
-
As they fleshed out the plot, their different approaches became apparent.
"We could shoot it in black and white," Marius suggested, sketching out a storyboard. "It adds a timeless quality, emphasizes emotions without distractions."
Amora hesitated. "That's a great idea, but color can also be powerful. What if we use muted tones but bring in splashes of color for moments of connection? Like the way emotions feel."
Lou, sitting cross-legged on the floor with a bag of chips, chimed in. "I like both ideas. Maybe we start in black and white, then transition to color as the connections form."
Amora nodded thoughtfully, but Marius frowned. "That could feel forced. Simplicity might be better."
The room grew tense as Amora and Marius exchanged a few more points, neither backing down. Lou, sensing the mood, raised his hands.
"Okay, pause," he said dramatically. "Let's take five. Everyone grab a snack, breathe, and then we'll try to Frankenstein these ideas together."
Amora laughed despite herself, and even Marius cracked a smile.
-
As they reconvened, Amora leaned over to adjust one of Marius's sketches. Their hands brushed briefly, and she froze.
"Sorry," she murmured, glancing at him.
"It's fine," Marius said softly, his eyes meeting hers for a moment longer than necessary.
Lou coughed loudly. "So... are we gonna pretend I don't see what's happening here?"
"Lou," they both said in unison, turning away with matching blushes.
-
After their session ended, Amora lingered in the lab, jotting down notes on her laptop. The soft click of a door startled her, and she looked up to see Marius returning.
"Forgot my phone," he said, holding it up as he walked over.
Amora smiled. "The storyboard looks amazing, by the way. You're really talented."
"Thanks," Marius replied, his tone genuine. "You are too. I see why Hollywood loves you."
She laughed lightly. "Sometimes I wonder if they love me or just the idea of me."
Marius paused, his expression softening. "The real you is worth knowing."
Her heart skipped a beat, but she quickly changed the subject, unsure how to respond.
-
As Amora walked back to her dorm, her phone buzzed with an email notification. She opened it and gasped.
Subject: Academy Short Film Showcase Announcement Prize: Screening at the International Film Festival in Venice.
Her heart raced as she read the details. Their film wasn't just a project anymore—it was their shot at something bigger.
