Nanase Riku wasn't the only one Kujo Tenn left behind. Along with his parents and his twin brother, there was someone else—someone who meant the world to him. Haru Akashi. Beyond Riku, Haru was the person Tenn cherished most in his life. A childhood friend to both brothers, Haru shared in their laughter, their struggles, and the dreams they once believed would never end.

But one day, he left them all behind—his family, his brother, and Haru Akashi. He disappeared without a word, offering no explanation. For Haru, the worst part wasn't just his sudden departure—it was that he didn't even bother to say good-bye.

It was evening, and Haru stood on the balcony of her ninth-floor apartment, gazing at the vast, dimming sky. The city lights below flickered, indifferent to her presence. She was alone, as always. Her family was away on another business trip, their lives revolving around schedules and deals, not around her.

Haru had never felt connected to them, not in the way other people seemed to bond with their families. Her parents, whom she reluctantly called her family, were cold and distant. They were workaholics, obsessed with their careers, and saw material wealth as the ultimate expression of care. Yet, in all the luxury they provided, they'd overlooked the one thing Haru needed most: love. She couldn't even recall the last time they sat down for dinner together.

But love, warmth, and attention weren't things her parents valued. To them, success was everything. To her, it wasn't enough.

The emptiness had settled into Haru's life long ago, like an uninvited guest who refused to leave. She felt adrift in a world that seemed meaningless. No dreams, no plans, no will to move forward. The thought of disappearing often felt like a release. Suicidal thoughts visited her daily, like whispers she couldn't escape. She remembered standing on the edge of a cliff once, staring into the abyss, wondering if it would hurt to let go.

This despair wasn't new—it had crept into her life during childhood. Back then, however, there had been two people who made life bearable: Tenn and Riku. They were the light in her dark world, the only ones who truly saw her. And while both were special, Tenn held a place in her heart no one else could.

Tenn had a way of making her feel safe, understood, and loved. With him, she could face another day, no matter how bleak it seemed. He had promised her once, in his steady, reassuring voice: "I'll never leave you alone, Haru. I promise."

But promises, she learned, were fragile things.

Tenn left.

On her thirteenth birthday, Haru waited all day for them to visit her. When they didn't show up, she grew worried and decided to go to their house, fearing something might have happened to Riku. As she made her way there, the rain began to fall.

Haru quickened her pace as the rain continued to fall. When she arrived, she saw a man standing in front of their house with a car parked behind him. Her heart sank as she noticed Riku crying, clutching Tenn's hand and pleading, "Don't go."

At first, Haru couldn't comprehend what was happening. Then, she watched in disbelief as Tenn turned his back on Riku and walked toward the man. Panicking, Haru called out his name, "Tenn!"

Tenn froze for a moment, recognizing the familiar voice. But instead of turning to her or answering, he kept walking toward the car.

Haru's chest tightened as she watched his retreating figure. Determined, she began walking toward him, calling out again, "Tenn, stop!" But before she could reach him, Tenn got into the car with the man.
