The next morning, everything was different.
Jungkook’s mind was a battlefield.
He hadn’t slept much, as the memory of yesterday's incident replayed over and over in his mind like a stuck tape. He tried to ignore it but with no success.Taehyung was here for some marketing related work.
Their collaboration had officially ended, and they both fell back into their roles as business rivals, but there was a still some execution and testing works that required slight interaction.
Every time Jungkook saw Taehyung he felt his legs weak.
Taehyung, but, didn’t meet his gaze. He was focused on the screen in front of him, his fingers moving across the keyboard with practiced ease.
He seemed calm, collected--like nothing had happened.
Jungkook was anything but calm. He felt a strange mixture of longing and confusion dancing in his head. Why isn’t he saying anything?
Taehyung was close, always within reach, but somehow always so far away. It was maddening.
Once he even opened his mouth to speak, but the right words didn't come out. What do I even say?
Taehyung glanced up for a split second, his eyes met Jungkook’s. Jungkook tried to read his gaze
-an apology?
or maybe even a question?
But before Jungkook could read it, Taehyung turned back to his screen, his expression neutral.
This is stupid. Why is he acting like this?
Jungkook missed how things were till yesterday.
I wish I could time travel and undo yesterday.
I shouldn't have turned up to the party. They went through the day with no contact-
meetings, emails, calls
-just tension sizzling from unspoken words and all he could do was watch, helplessly from the huge space between them.

In the days that followed, Jungkook couldn't focus at work.
He couldn’t sleep at night.
Every time he closed his eyes, all he saw was Taehyung.
Why is it so hard to talk about this? Why can’t I just tell him?
Jungkook wasn’t used to this. He wasn’t used to the uncertainty.
Jungkook had never been good at letting people in. He’d spent his life building walls, walls that now felt like they were closing in on him.He wanted to scream.
To shout at Taehyung.
To ask why everything was suddenly so complicated.
But he didn’t know how to.He was already blaming himself for doing enough harm ,now he didn't want to sound desperate on top of it .
