" I'm broken that too beyond repair." I don't know if I'll make a good partner to anybody because I've lived through hell and back. I've experienced the worst things in life and came out on top, but all of those things still haunt me.

" Nobody's perfect, and to be quite honest, I've seen things that keep me up at night, things that would give you nightmares, so trust me, I am the broken one." He said with haunted eyes, and l felt his pain.

" My dad and my brothers." I specifically warned to stay away from him, so I don't know how something like that would go well with them.

" Don't you think it's time you live your life as per your rules? Besides, I don't think they expect you to be a nun." god bless his poor self because he clearly doesn't know my family.

I don't think I'll be able to win on either side, but I do want to get back the time that we lost. That being said, I initiated a kiss between us, and it was just as magical.

"l missed you." He groaned, and l smiled. He leaned in for yet another heated kiss.

We found ourselves speaking about the years that we spent apart. I told you about my school and my career. I told you I'm about therapy and the friends that I made along the way, including Chase.

He told me about the changes he'd made to his businesses and how they're flourishing nowadays. he has always taken his father's business quite seriously, and I know that he must have made his father proud. he did have a few flings along the way, but I'm glad that they never amounted to something serious.

" Are you deliberately not telling me about Fallon." it's honestly the only thing I've been waiting to hear, but he just wouldn't get to it.

" There's nothing much to say about Fallon except the fact that she dropped out of school, and she basically stays in her room all day and doesn't come out." He said, and I could tell just how my much frustrated him.

"But why."l know she struggled to make friends and stuff, but dropping out and staying in is a little bit too extreme.

" I don't know, but since you're here, maybe you'll be able to talk to her and find out why." He sighed, but before I could find out more, the hostess told me to sit down properly and prepare for landing.

He held my hand as the plane opened, l was nervous, and this time, I had every right to because the guards had already told us, but they're people with guns waiting outside.

" Just relax. I'm here, and nothing will happen to you, but control your face and don't give anything away. They feed on fear, and if you go out looking like this, they'll know." All I wanted to was just to find a bucket to throw up in. I was nervous and downright scared.

" The fact that they are here means that they know." I know that he's trying to placate me, but he doesn't need to lie to me.

" I know that you're a lawyer, but this is my playground, and everything I say goes." Gone is that sweet man who was telling me all the kind of things that I wanted to hear, but now I can see the leader of the Russian mafia.

l held my hand as we exited the plane. I can blank out my face. it's not something that I learned in law school but at something that I always saw my dad doing.

I was downright scared when I saw the man surrounding the plane. they all looked badass and scary, but l schooled my features to look nonchalant.

" I must say this is the first time somebody has taken me by surprise." Someone amongst them said. This person was clearly related to Chase because they looked a lot similar.

" What are you talking about, Sam, and what are you doing here." Killian said, feigning ignorance, making the Sam guy laugh.

" I should have known they'd call you." Another lookalike of Chase said.

" Firstly, what you were doing right now is a threat to our alliance, and secondly, I don't even know what you're talking about." If I do survive today, then I want to take the acting lessons that he did because I could've really believed him if I didn't know the truth.

" I don't care about the alliance. The girl that you're holding killed my brother and I too in Cold Blood." I couldn't give up the straight face anymore when he confirmed my fears.

A part of me believed that maybe he was alive and he ran away from there, but it was confirmed that I was a murderer.

" Don't cry, yet girlie, I'll give you a reason to cry." He said menacingly.

Killian pushed me behind him.

" I don't know who you think you are, Evan, but you are never going to talk to her like that again if you still value your life or the lives of everybody else that you love." He said.

" Don't start a war, Killian, give us the girl, and we will forget that any of this happened." But just as they were starting their threats, a lot of men started to come in, and they were pointing guns at them.

" You tend to forget the power that I have and I'm warning you stay away from my fiance or else you'll be risking a war not just with the Italian Mafia but with the Russians as well." I was just as surprised as all of them by what he said, but I trust Killian, and he wouldn't say something like that without any reason.

" fiancé." The one called Evan asked.

" Yes, and your brother wanted to rape my fiance which is a breach of our alliance and he deserved to die either way so consider as even or else I will come after your whole family and we both know that I don't make empty promises.
