"𝐂𝐀𝐍 𝐒𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐁𝐎𝐃𝐘 go get my speaker?!" Jhream called out, her voice echoing through the quiet apartment as she tapped her foot impatiently on the kitchen tile.
She was standing by the counter, her eyes scanning the room for something to occupy her attention, but the silence was driving her crazy.
Footsteps echoed down the hallway, and Jhream perked up, waiting for the familiar sound. Soon, Nari appeared in the kitchen doorway, holding the speaker in her hands with a look of mild amusement on her face.
"Here," Nari said, handing it over without saying much more.
Jhream took the speaker eagerly, a soft sigh escaping her lips as she glanced at Nari, "Thanks," she muttered, giving her a quick smile.
She then turned toward Tune, who was standing by the kitchen island, leaning against it casually. She walked over, her steps confident as she held the speaker in one hand. "Can I connect your phone to this?" she asked, looking up at him with a playful glint in her eyes.
Tune squinted at her, as if trying to read her intention. His expression softened a little before he gave her a subtle nod. He pulled his iPhone 15 from his pocket and handed it to her without hesitation. His fingers brushed against hers as he passed it over, and Jhream couldn't help but notice the brief flicker of warmth that lingered.
With a quiet, knowing smirk, Jhream took the phone and slid it open with a flick of her thumb. She unlocked it effortlessly, her eyes already scanning through the settings to connect it to the speaker.
Her fingers moved with practiced ease as she navigated through the phone, and within seconds, she was on the Spotify app, typing in "Scarred" by Giveon. The song popped up almost immediately, and she tapped play.
As the mellow intro of Giveon's voice began to fill the air, Jhream turned up the volume just enough so it spilled out from the speaker, filling the space between her and Tune. The sound seemed to settle into the room, and she felt a sense of satisfaction as the music created the perfect backdrop to the moment.
She glanced up at Tune, a slight grin curling at the corners of her lips. "There. Now it's a vibe," she said, her tone playful yet satisfied. The music had done exactly what she needed, transforming the quiet kitchen into something more alive.
Jhream took a moment, her fingers hovering over her phone screen as she scrolled through TikTok. She hesitated for just a second before tapping on the Live button, her gaze briefly flickering to the others in the living room. As the live stream began, she muttered to herself, her voice barely above a whisper.
"I'm not ready for TikTok to get banned, at all," she said, letting out a short, frustrated sigh. She was scrolling through the stream, already noticing the views were coming in fast.
