September 2, 1993 • Hogwarts

When Harry, Ron, and Hermione entered the Great Hall for breakfast the next day, the first thing they saw was Draco Malfoy, who seemed to be entertaining a large group of Slytherins with a supposedly hilarious story. As they passed, Malfoy performed a ridiculous impression of a swooning figure, eliciting a roar of laughter.

"Ignore him," said Hermione, who was right behind Harry. "Remember what Ciara told me about Dra-."

"Hey, Potter!" shrieked Pansy Parkinson, a Slytherin girl with a face like a pug. "Potter! The Dementors are coming, Potter! Woooooooo!"

Harry dropped into a seat at the Gryffindor table, when Ciara came from the back of the hall. "Oh, I almost forgot to say something, Potter," she stated loudly.

"Wha-," Harry began, but Ciara cut him off.

"I found Draco all nice and worked up after the Dementor skimmed by his compartment. I thought it was a first-year screaming!"

Laughter erupted around them, effectively silencing the Slytherins who had been teasing Harry about his own encounter with the Dementor.

"George and I were there too," Fred said with a smirk

"Git almost wet himself!" finished George.

More laughter erupted, but before Ciara went to sit back down, Harry sent her a grateful smile and mouthed a small thank you.

Harry and the twins, George and Fred, were engrossed in a conversation about their upcoming Quidditch match, while Ciara sat down to inspect her schedule once more. She had Muggle Studies first block, Arithmancy as well as Herbology first block. This would be the first time she would get to use her new time turner. Hermione shared Arithmancy with her, but they wouldn't be attending the first block class together, as Hermione had Divination.

During the second block, Ciara had Transfiguration with the Gryffindors. Her final classes for the day were Care of Magical Creatures, also with the Gryffindors, and Ancient Runes, which she shared with Hermione.

She walked over to talk with Hermione while Harry was still deep in conversation with the twins.

"Anyway, we'll see how happy Malfoy looks after our first Quidditch match," said Fred. "Gryffindor versus Slytherin, first game of the season, remember?"

Ciara took a seat next to Hermione, and they laid out their schedules side by side to see how many classes overlapped. "Ooh, good, we're starting some new subjects today," Hermione said happily.

"Hermione, oh and Ciara," said Ron, frowning as he looked over Hermione's shoulder, "they've messed up your schedules. Look—they've got you down for about ten subjects a day. There isn't enough time."

"We'll manage," said Hermione confidently.

"We've got it all fixed with Professor McGonagall," added Ciara.

"But look," said Ron, laughing, "see this morning? Nine o'clock, Divination. And underneath, nine o'clock, Muggle Studies. And"—Ron leaned closer to the schedules, disbelieving—"hers too, and you both have Arithmancy at the same time as well. How're you supposed to be in three classes at once?"

"Don't be silly," said Hermione shortly. "Of course, we won't be in three classes at once."

"Well, then—"

"Pass the marmalade," said Ciara.

"But—"

"Oh, Ron, what's it to you if our schedules are a bit full?" Hermione snapped. "She told you, we've fixed it all with Professor McGonagall."
