Aadya pov
The setting sun cast long shadows across my room, painting the walls in hues of orange and purple. A nervous energy buzzed within me, a mixture of excitement and trepidation. Tonight was it – my last date with Reyansh.
I glanced at the clock, the numbers mocking me with their slow crawl. Every second felt like an eternity. I had to be discreet, of course. My parents, with their unwavering protectiveness, would never approve of me staying out late, especially knowing about my impending marriage.
I quickly slipped into a simple yet elegant dress, the fabric whispering against my skin. I applied a touch of makeup, a gentle smile playing on my lips. A quick glance in the mirror, a deep breath, and I was ready.
I slipped out of the house, my heart light with anticipation. The night air was cool and crisp, a stark contrast to the warmth that bloomed within me.
As I hurried towards the rendezvous point, a quiet corner near the park, I spotted Rooh leaning against her scooter, a mischievous glint in her eyes.
"Ready to play chauffeur for the runaway bride?" Rooh grinned, her voice a low rumble.
I chuckled, "You know it. And you, my dear friend, are the best wingwoman a girl could ask for."
Rooh grinned, "Always at your service, milady."
With a wink, she gestured for me to hop on. As we sped off, the wind whipped through my hair, I felt a surge of excitement. Tonight, I would cherish every moment with Reyansh, a final celebration of our love before the whirlwind of our wedding took over.
The cafe, with its warm lighting and soft jazz music, was the perfect backdrop for our clandestine rendezvous. Rooh, ever the observant friend, parked her scooter discreetly and guided me towards a secluded booth in the corner.
Reyansh was already there, a single rose clutched in his hand, a nervous smile playing on his lips.
"You look stunning," he breathed, his eyes lingering on me.
"So do you," I replied, my heart fluttering.
Rooh, ever the consummate wingwoman, approached our table. "Alright, lovebirds," she said, her voice a conspiratorial whisper. "I've delivered the goods. Now, make it count."
She winked at me and Reyansh, and before either of us could respond, she turned and walked away, leaving Reyansh and me alone.
"You owe me one for this," she called back over her shoulder with a mischievous grin.
Reyansh chuckled, "Consider your debt repaid tenfold."
The rest of the evening was a blur of stolen glances, whispered confessions, and laughter that bubbled up from deep within our souls. We relived cherished memories, shared dreams for our future, and savored the precious moments of this stolen time together.
As the clock struck late, we knew it was time to say goodbye.
Reyansh insisted on dropping me home. We drove in comfortable silence, the city lights blurring into streaks of color outside the window. He pulled up discreetly under the cover of night, near my house.
"Thank you for this evening," I said, my voice was soft.
"It was perfect," he replied, his eyes searching for mine.
He leaned over and gently kissed my forehead. "Sleep well, Aadya."
With a final lingering look, he drove away, leaving me standing alone in the quiet night, the memory of his touch lingering on my skin.
