Farther ahead, Margaret was already in the thick of the chaos. The Champion of Kazimierz charged at the mutated child with a golden streak of Arts trailing her every swing.
Her movements were methodical, and experience made her stronger in the field of battle.
She was holding the front, buying time for Mlynar and the others to regroup.
She would be fine, her 'stats' said so, and her general experience in fighting.
Mlynar was somewhat grateful for the fact that the Doctor looked at the world as some sort of game, and that he himself was one of the Doctors most prized operators. In secret of course, he would never share or show this openly.
Although they did notice that all of the Child's Summons were....blocky.
The only one that wasn't blocky was the boss himself. How odd.
The Child began to summon more and more mobs to block and fight against the operators.
Mlynar, like any normal person would, didn't like fighting children, he hoped that at the very least, the Doctor would spare the child.
A high-pitched whistle cut the air, jolting him out of his thoughts. A firework bolt streaked toward him, grazing his head as he sidestepped. The firework detonated against a wall far behind him in a blast of light and sound.
Which startled Myrtle.
The boy stood at the source, holding a strange, blocky crossbow in one hand. Without hesitation, he reloaded and fired another firework-tipped bolt.
This time, it slammed into Mountain at point-blank range, engulfing the massive feline's burned hands in another eruption of fiery color.
Mlynar, never one to flinch in the face of potential defeat, observed his opponent calmly.
The swordsman's eyes gleamed with deadly intent, and his grip tightened on the hilt of his blade's scabbard.
The fight erupted when Mlynar lunged forward without hesitation, his sword slicing through the air toward Nate's head.
Nate raised his shield, meeting the incoming blade with a crash, the sound of clashing metal reverberating through the arena.
Small Sparks shot out from the point of impact, temporarily blinding the onlookers as Mlynar expertly twisted his blade, with the Boss grunting under the pressure.
The boss, Nate, made a split second decision.
And that was to put a pickaxe between his opponents teeth.
And then it came, a fast strike. With horrifying speed and shocking technique, Nate swung his blocky pickaxe into Mlynar’s face.
In the moments that followed, Mlynar’s sword met the axe in a loud clatter of sound.
With Sparks flying from the contact, lighting up the face of the enemy in grim reflection.
He Then lunged again, wielding his axe with all the precision of a demon.
The attack was swift but an inefficient one Mlynar parried with a sideways swipe of his sword and executed a quick strike that grazed Nate's shoulder.
With a sudden and controlled strike, Mlynar turned the battle in his favor, his blade darting to graze Nate’s shoulder.
The dark-haired child staggered back for a fraction of a second, only long enough to avoid more fatal cuts.
This is why he's one of the best operators in Arknights.
(And in lore I think.)
Mlynar tightened his grip on his sword, his resolve hardening as the battle raged on.
As more mobs poured from the walls, their strange, blocky forms clashing with the Operators in a violent dance. Mlynar muttered a small 'Kurwa'
His focus sharpened, his Arts flickering to life once more, despite the darkness wanting to swallow it whole.
The Doctor stood at the edge of the battlefield, surrounded by the subtle hum of Rhodes Island's tactical interfaces and the tense chatter of the Operators' comms.
Though he tried to project calm, the Doctor felt a sense of unease prickling the edges of their mind.
The DP on he bottom right of PRTS was depleted, a mere 12 no 13, after Myrtle got knocked out by a Ghast, while the main combatants went for the Boss.
They looked at the special items in the hotbar, two 'Potion of Healing', three more roadblocks, and-
The Doctor's eyes widened in realization.
The last item's, Three Potions of Strength II, given by this Stage and it's mechanics, a temporary boost to his Operators Attack. There are several mechanics that are new.
So far?
-Darkness-Lowers the range of Operatorsin the stage.
-Mobs-93- now 46 currently alive
-Potions-14
-Golden Apples-1The Doctor looked at them, looked at the stage field.
And selected the Potion's of Strength II. Before teleporting them to his Operators, these would greatly help him.
Irene perched on the high vantage point provided by a wall formed from debris. Her rapier gleamed under the flickering, unnatural light of the boy’s summons.
She had watched the battle play out so far, analyzing her opponent’s behavior for quite some time now.
The Doctor’s flustered murmurs over comms confirmed that the situation was spiraling beyond initial projections, oh and the red potion in her hand.
She prepared her rapier, and leaped, aiming for the exposed back of Nate, with her Arts ready, and Mobs trying to stop her.
She was simply too fast for them.
Skadi walked amidst the chaos as if it was nothing more than a dim breeze disturbing the air around her.
While her comrades bled and fought, she simply observed the boy at the center of it all, her crimson glow amplifying with every step closer to him.
She just kept on singing, singing for HER doctor, for her kin, and for her comrades.
Skadi’s unmistakable power surged beside her, and Gladiia barely flinched when a creeper explosion rocked the ground.
They all moved as a team, systematically carving through their foes with an efficiency bred from years of deadly experience.
She closed her eyes, letting her voice cover the stage field. Her kin would become more powerful.
That, she knew.
Myrtle crouched behind a roadblock, planting her flag as fast as her hands would let her and glowed green.
Her green aura replenished the squad’s strength little by little, but she felt woefully outmatched, even with her trusty apple.
But fear wasn’t enough to stop her. Even as a creeper approached, she stood her ground, ready to throw her all into the mission, probably.
