while i was sleeping, i heard music. at first, it was faint, but it got louder until it finally woke me up. i opened my eyes to see hayls getting ready, susan searching for her uniform, and hannah stepping out of the shower. in the background, "don't smile" by sabrina carpenter was playing softly.

"oh! you're awake," hayls said. "since you've already showered, you can start getting ready."

"oh, okay," i replied.

"did the music bother you? we're sorry if it did," susan asked apologetically.

"oh, don't worry, it's fine. if it hadn't woken me up, i might have been late for breakfast," i said with a small smile.

i got up and went to wash my face and do my skincare routine. once i left the bathroom, i headed to my closet to grab my uniform. i put on a white button-up shirt, a black skirt, a gray vest, a yellow tie with black stripes, black tights, and my black mary janes.

once i was ready, i grabbed my robe and my black longchamp bag, feeling a bit of excitement building up. "are we ready?" hayls asks, her voice filled with anticipation.

"i am," hannah and susan both say with enthusiasm.

"let me put on perfume quickly," i say, already reaching for my bottle, excited to add that final touch.

"i just learned a spell that makes your perfume last all day without needing to reapply," hayls says with a grin, clearly proud of her new discovery.

"yeah, since she taught us that spell, i don't have to put on perfume as often," susan adds, smiling happily as she looks at hayls.

"do you want me to put it on you?" hayls asks, offering.

"um, yes please!" i say, genuinely excited to try it out.

"perfumus aeternus," hayls says with a flourish, performing the spell as if it were second nature to her.

once we were all packed and ready, we made our way down to the common room. as we reached the door, we spotted the guys waiting for us.

"hey girls," ernie greets us with a friendly smile.

"hey ernie!" we all reply, our voices cheerful.

"good morning, guys, are you ready to go have breakfast?" hayls asks with a playful tone, and the three of them nod eagerly. we all walk out of the common room together.

as we make our way to the dining hall, we talk about everything-my classes for the semester, the gossip from the break, and zach's jokes that made everyone burst out laughing. i feel a sense of warmth and comfort being with my friends, knowing we're all in this together.

as we entered the great hall, we all sat together, and i couldn't help but notice cedric and a teacher walking over with a piece of paper. "hello, miss diggory," said professor sprout with a warm smile, "i'm professor sprout, your herbology professor and head of hufflepuff house. here's your schedule for this term. i'll see you later in herbology. have a good day."
