"oh, man. we're out of groceries," daniel mutters to himself as he opens the refrigerator and was met with emptiness. he ruffles up his hair, a habit for when he's helpless.

he grabs the keys from the counter and walks outside, the afternoon sun beating down at his face.

minutes later, he was at the nearby grocery store. stepping inside, he exchanges a pleasant greeting with the teenage cashier (who always looks at him with hearts in her eyes). as he walked down the aisles, she swooned over him with her chin resting on her palm. her colleague had to repeat her name twice to get her to snap out of it.

daniel smirked to himself as he caught a glance of it while picking out bread, pride of the power he was exerting.

he glanced around to make sure no one was watching. then, with a swift motion of his hand, he pocketed some mini chocolate bars, a piece of gum, granola bar and a lighter into his pocket.

'i don't even know why i bother stealing anymore,' he thinks to himself as he sneaks a peek at his admirer. 'she'll let me get away with it anyhow.'

he grabbed a piece of bread and a few vegetables that he was sure his few bucks could cover. then he made his way to the counter. he noticed julie playing with her sweater more often the closer he came to her.

"hey," he passed a smirk her way and placed his stuff on the counter.

"you know," she leaned in, stealing furtive glances to make sure her colleague wasn't listening. "there's a new rule that states regular customers can get upto a 50% discount!"

daniel pretended to look excited, albeit knowing this was coming anyway. it's funny how he's got her wrapped around his little finger.

those are the kind of girls he likes best; the ones who are the easiest to control.

"so," she attempts to make small talk while waiting for it to ring up. "are you free today?"

"nah," daniel said uninterestingly.

"then how about tomorrow?"

"tomorrow, i'm still expensive." he'd said it to make julie laugh, but it had the opposite effect.

"then when will you be free?" she began to grow more and more desperate, her grip on the table tightening. "can we meet up at your place tonight?"

"sure," daniel slides in a note to her that had his number on it. "come over tonight, and bring no one else with you."
