Stella

I stood in front of the mirror, staring at the reflection of the girl I barely recognized. The soft fabric of the fitted sweater hugged my body in all the right places, and I was actually shocked at how good I looked. The sweater was a deep emerald green, matched with a sleek black skirt. I couldn't believe I was wearing something so daring—especially in the middle of winter—but Bree insisted.

"You look incredible, Stella!" Bree said for what must have been the tenth time, beaming from ear to ear. "You're gonna have him speechless."

I looked at her, eyes wide, feeling a mix of excitement and anxiety. "You really think so?"

Bree nodded vigorously, her eyes practically sparkling with pride. "Absolutely. You're gorgeous. Look at you—hot as hell."

I rolled my eyes but couldn't help the small smile tugging at my lips. Bree had always been there for me, pushing me to be more confident, to wear the things I usually wouldn't dare to try. But tonight felt different. Tonight wasn't just about wearing a miniskirt; it was about showing up for myself. And, in a way, showing up for Cameron.

The sound of a knock at the door made my heart skip a beat.

"Oh my God, he's here!" Bree squealed, nearly knocking over the pile of clothes she had thrown on my bed in her excitement.

I froze. What was I doing? What if I messed this up? What if I didn't deserve this?

Before I could second-guess myself any further, Bree was already opening the door with far too much enthusiasm.

"Hi, Cameron!" she greeted him with her usual energy. "Stella's right here!"

I took a deep breath and stepped forward, my nerves suddenly making my legs feel like jelly. As soon as he turned to look at me, his expression shifted to one of surprise and awe.

"Stella..." he breathed, his voice almost quiet, like he couldn't believe what he was seeing.

For a moment, I couldn't find my voice. I had never seen him look at me like this. His eyes raked over me, not in a way that felt objectifying, but in a way that felt... appreciative. He was taking me in, every inch of me, and I was suddenly aware of every detail—my hair, my makeup, the way that all of that made me feel like a different version of myself.

"Wow," he finally said, his eyes wide. "You look... incredible."

I flushed, embarrassed and thrilled all at once. "Uh, thanks," I said softly, but I couldn't help the shy smile that spread across my face.

Bree winked at me, then called out, "Have fun, you two!" before practically slamming the door behind us.

The car ride was quiet at first, but not uncomfortable. I could feel Cameron glancing at me every now and then, his attention never wavering. But the closer we got to our destination, the more my nerves began to surface. What was this night going to be like? What was he expecting?

Cameron seemed to sense my growing tension and reached over, lightly brushing his fingers against mine. "Hey, you okay?"

I nodded quickly, not trusting my voice to come out steady. "Yeah, just... nervous."

He smiled, a soft, reassuring smile that made my stomach flutter. "Don't be. Tonight is all about you, Stella. Whatever you want, we'll do."

I didn't have a chance to ask what that meant before we pulled into the parking lot of a quiet, secluded park. My eyes widened in surprise. It was beautiful—serene and untouched by the bustle of the city. The night air was crisp, but not too cold, and the stars above us seemed to glitter brighter than usual.
