✶⋆.˚꩜ Echoes of Fate .ᐟ˙⋆✶

As the commotion unfolded in the room, Seungcheol ran a hand through his hair, clearly at his wit’s end. "But Seungcheol, they do look awfully like you," Tyler said, smirking as he carefully picked up Cheol and placed him on his lap. He patted the boy’s cheek playfully, only for Cheol to swat at him with a tiny hand.

"I agree," Vernon chimed in, his soft chuckle barely masking the amusement in his eyes.

Seung-Haan, the more vocal of the twins, suddenly pointed an accusing finger at Seungcheol. "Old man, why do you look like us? Did you copy us?" he asked, his little face scrunched up in mock anger.

Seungcheol’s eyes widened in panic. "No, baby! OMG, I did NO—"

"He did," Tyler interrupted bluntly, flashing a mischievous grin as he leaned back in his chair, enjoying every second of the chaos.

Seungcheol whipped his head around, glaring daggers at Tyler. "Tyler, you mother—" He caught himself just in time and instead yelled, "Kriti! Kriti!" His voice echoed through the room, making the twins giggle.

Hearing the urgency in her boss's voice, Kriti rushed into the room, her clipboard in hand. "Yes, boss? What happened? Do you need something?"

Seungcheol wasted no time pointing dramatically at the two toddlers who blinked up at Kriti with their wide, innocent eyes. "Can you please tell me who the hell these kids are and why they look so much like me?" His voice wavered between disbelief and frustration.

Kriti’s gaze shifted to Seung-Haan and Cheol, and a soft smile crept onto her face. She clutched the clipboard closer to her chest as she responded calmly, "Oh, them? Boss, remember how I told you a few days ago that I have two kids who look exactly like you? I was talking about them."

Seungcheol stared at her, utterly dumbfounded. "But... how?" His voice cracked slightly, his mind racing for an explanation.

"Okay, Kriti, but where did they come from? Why do they look so much like me?"

Kriti hesitated for a moment, her composure faltering as she nervously adjusted her clipboard. "Uh… Boss, these are my nephews," she said, her voice a little higher-pitched than usual.

Seungcheol’s confusion only deepened. "Your nephews?"

"Yes, boss! My sister's kids," Kriti replied quickly, nodding emphatically as if to solidify her answer. "They’ve been living with me for a while now because my sister had to move abroad for work. That’s why I’ve been taking care of them."

Seungcheol narrowed his eyes, not entirely convinced. "But why do they look so much like me? Seriously, Kriti, this isn’t funny."

Kriti laughed nervously, fidgeting with her pen. "Boss, genetics can be weird sometimes. Coincidences happen! Maybe it's just fate playing tricks on us, right?" She forced a smile, hoping to diffuse the tension.

Before Seungcheol could press further, Seung-Haan piped up again. "Old man, you still didn’t answer why you look like us."

Tyler grinned, crouching down beside the twins again. "Maybe he’s your long-lost uncle. What do you think, kids?"

Lorenzo burst out laughing, clapping Seungcheol on the back. "Man, you’ve got some serious explaining to do. They’re practically your mini-mes."

Seungcheol groaned, running a hand down his face. "You’re all impossible," he muttered, glaring at Kriti, who looked relieved that the attention had shifted back to the twins.
