Nya spent the night at Jay's, and they woke up to the explosion in the middle of the night. They both got up to go to Cole's apartment, and this time the explosion woke him up too, since he was already looking out of the window when they invited themselves inside.

It's the afternoon afterwards and they were sitting in Jay's apartment this time and they were watching the news about it, and luckily there were no casualties.

The news was sorta playing in the background while they were eating lunch.

"An FBI Agent claimed that a gang was involved in this explosion. He also said that this gang may tie to Lloyd Garmadon's currently unsolved case of the car bomb. Officers said to report any gang-related activity and make sure not to stay out too late to ensure safety as this level of crime in such a short period of time has never been seen before," said Gayle Gossip, who was delivering the news.

"Can we turn this off?" Jay asked.

Nya grabbed the TV remote and switched channels to a random cartoon. "Is everything okay? Why aren't you eating? I thought you like Chen's Noodles."

"I do... I'm just..." He sighed. "I'm worried about Zane."

"The abnormally tall detective guy?" Cole asked.

"You're also abnormally tall."

"Well, he's taller. Not by much, but still taller."

"Whatever. Yes, the detective guy."

"Why?" Nya questioned.

"Yeah, he said he was doing fine with all his FBI stuff or whatever."

"Nothing was "fine" with him since his dad passed away. He went to the city for the first time with his dad for his 11th birthday but they didn't arrive the next morning. He came back a few days later with some guy named Wu, who became Zane's new guardian. So, Zane moved to the city with him. He'd visit us sometimes but as we grew older, I guess we just grew apart. He was really talkative before that day. I guess his murder just made everything fall apart. Zane never told anyone about what happened, and we don't know who did it, but we know that his dad was shot."

"That's horrible..." Nya said. "Well, why don't you call him?"

"He's probably solving another case. I don't want to disturb him if he's at work."

Nya shrugged, "You'll never know if you don't call. I'm sure he'll be happy to hear from you."

Jay sighed and picked up his phone. "I guess your right..." He went to his bedroom while looking for Zane in hus contact list before calling. He pressed the speaker against his ear while letting the phone ring.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Zane! Um... I just wanted to check up on you and see how you were doing. It was just random when you came over regarding Lloyd and I guess it made me realise how long ago it was since we had a proper conversation."

"I'm okay, thanks. I'm just on my way to work."

"That's cool."

"Are you doing anything interesting? How are your inventions getting along?"

Jay glanced over at his desk trashed with a bunch of failed inventions. "Eh. Could've been better. There's still room for improvement."

"Well, I hope they work out."
