Est Pov
It's been a few days since I started working with Mike, and so far, every moment has felt like a whirlwind of learning and adjustment. Mike is a perfectionist, his every move sharp and calculated, and his team has been nothing but warm and accommodating. They've gone out of their way to make me feel at home, which I genuinely appreciate.
Today, however, feels different. As I sit beside Mike in his sleek, black car, I can sense the gravity of what's coming. He hasn't said much, but the determined look on his face is enough to clue me in. The car rolls to a stop in front of a towering glass building. My eyes catch the polished logo: ONER Entertainment. My stomach tightens. This is it.
The building looms tall, its reflective glass exterior gleaming under the sun. Inside, it's pristine and bustling-a space where power and ambition collide. Mike doesn't pause to take it in; he strides confidently through the halls, and I follow close behind, trying to keep my nerves in check. We're heading straight to the CEO's office, and my mind buzzes with questions about what's ahead.
In the office, Devika, the CEO, greets us with a warm but no-nonsense demeanor. The space is modern and sleek, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a breathtaking view of the city. Mike introduces me, his words crisp and filled with praise. When he calls me one of his best employees and a talented videographer, I can feel my chest tighten with both pride and pressure. Then, he drops the bombshell: I'll be handling the documentary for Lykn.
The weight of his words sinks in slowly. Lykn-the T-Pop sensation, the biggest idol group in Thailand. This is monumental. Their fandom is massive, passionate, and, let's face it, sometimes intimidating. There's no room for error. I've seen what happens when things go wrong in the idol world, and I can't afford to make a single mistake.
Devika's voice cuts through my thoughts. "I'm expecting great work from you, Est."
I nod, the weight of her expectations settling on my shoulders. She calls for Leo, a young, confident man who guides us toward Lykn's practice room. The walk through the halls is a blur of polished walls and faint echoes of music, but my mind is racing. This is it. My first major assignment with Mike, and it's no small feat.
---
The door to the practice room opens, and there they are-Lykn. The room is spacious, lined with mirrors, and has a faint smell of sweat and effort. The members are scattered, mid-conversation, but the air changes the moment we step inside. Their eyes turn to us, guarded and unreadable.
Leo introduces us, breaking the silence. Mike steps forward, his tone as professional as ever.
Mike: "Hello guys, meet Est, he is the one going to film your documentary. If you have any questions or concerns, he's the one to go to. I'm confident you'll do a great job together, bringing success to the group and to Est."
His words hang in the air as he exits, leaving me alone with the group. The silence that follows is deafening. I stand there, suddenly hyper aware of the weight of their gazes. My palms feel clammy, and I clear my throat, forcing myself to speak.
Est: "Uh... hello, everyone." My voice comes out more tentative than I intended. I shift on my feet, my nerves betraying me. "It's really... great to meet you all. This is a big opportunity for me to work with you, and I'm really excited about the documentary." I pause, searching their faces for any sign of reaction. "I'd be glad if, through this, I can... you know, add something meaningful to your career."
Still nothing. The silence stretches on, and I feel the weight of awkwardness pressing down on me. My throat feels dry, but I push forward.
Est: "Um... so, what are your thoughts on the documentary?" I try again, my voice tinged with hesitation. "Are you excited about it? Have you ever thought about how you'd like it to be? Any ideas you guys have, I'd love to hear them and incorporate them to make it... relatable to you. So that your fans can see who you really are-they'd love to see that."
