"You're impossible to work with. I can't stand you."
"And yet you're still here, why is that?"

"What?" I questioned back as I turned around to face Juju. I was completely baffled by her question. What did she even mean by that?
"You know what," Juju whispered lowly, making sure that no one could hear us.
We were now in a corner of the breakfast buffet beside the bakery section. I didn't even want any more food, but even more than that, I didn't want to interact with Juju. Which seems impossible now that she has me cornered.
"What are you—," I began to speak and I felt my eyebrows scrunch up in confusion, but Juju interrupted me before I could even finish my sentence.
"Why are you acting like such a bitch?" Juju hissed as she took a step closer to me. The plate of fruit was the only thing separating us and I was grateful for that, but I was also unsure of how long I would last before I grabbed the plate and threw it at her head.
"A bitch?" I hissed back as I crossed my arms over my chest. Who the hell does she think she is?
"Yes," Juju hissed again before she placed the plate down on the counter beside her and she took another step closer to me.
"Why are you being like this?" Juju asked again, this time her voice was softer. Her eyes started to move around my face as she analysed me. She seemed to be trying to figure out how I was feeling based on the expression on my face.
"Especially after last night," Juju continued as she moved her hands towards my waist and I felt her fingers hook themselves into the loops of my jeans as she pulled me closer to her by an inch.
Last night.
There it was. Juju has brought up last night and now I had to face it. We had to talk about it. This was the last thing I wanted to do. Reliving last night was not something I fancied. I didn't want to acknowledge how embarrassing last night was for me but of course, Juju did.
As I stared back at Juju, I was almost fooled by how soft her features looked. She didn't have a smirk playing on her lips, she didn't have her eyes narrowed and she didn't have her eyebrows scrunched. Her facial expression was gentle and seemed genuinely sincere.
I thought about last night and I grimaced at the memories. Sure, I had started this whole game of 'cat and mouse' but when Juju took her turn as the cat, she went too far. She made it too intimate and personal.
I felt my heart ache at the memory and even more so when I caught a glimpse of Ivy sitting at a table in the corner of the room as she talked to Rian. I felt the anger once again rise up within me the second she came into view and I remember what she said to me last night.
