24: It Was Nothing

"You know, I have to say, it was the best night of my life."

My chest tightened as the memory played over and over again in my head. Knowing that Juju's hands had been all over her, like they were on me right now, made me feel so unbelievably sick that I couldn't even begin to comprehend it.

"Oh please," I scoffed as I pushed Juju's hands away from my waist and I picked up my plate of fruit again, trying to create some distance between us.

"Last night didn't mean anything, I think you've made that clear," I scoffed again as I tried to move around her but she moved with me, blocking me.

"Didn't mean anything?" Juju hissed, louder this time as she started to get more annoyed with me.

"Are we seriously still playing this game?" Juju scoffed before placing her hands on her hips, making herself even wider so I couldn't move past her.

I stared back at her in disbelief before I rolled my eyes as I let out a sarcastic chuckle, she can't be serious can she?

"A game? Really?" I began speaking again while shaking my head and taking a step back from Juju.

"You're playing this game just as much as I am," Juju snapped as she continued to stare into my soul.

This conversation was escalating very quickly into a heated argument and people were starting to notice the friction being created between us. I could see how some of the girls heads were turning to look over at us out of the corner of my eye. I needed to diffuse this situation quickly but do you think that's what I did? Absolutely not.

I wanted to say something to get under Juju's skin. I wanted to make her feel as irritated as I did as images of her and Ivy kept flashing through my brain and I think I found just the right way to do it.

"Don't try and play this off as a game just because you can't finish the job," I spat before a small smirk made it's way across my lips and it only widened when I saw Juju's shocked expression.

I felt a part of my brain get itched as I watched how Juju struggled to comprehend what I said but I knew she understood that I was referring to last night and to her little stunt that she had pulled in the taxi.

I know it was petty, claiming that she only stopped what she was doing in the taxi because she was incapable of doing it right. I also knew that it wasn't true, she knew exactly what she was doing and she did it extremely well, but I wanted to hit her where it hurts. Juju is extremely egotistical, so claiming she's bad at something was the perfect way to get at her.

Juju's face contorted into a look of confusion and annoyance. Her eyebrows were now scrunched together and her arms had now fallen to hang limply by her sides.

"You look pale, you should eat something," I spoke once more before pushing the plate of fruit into her chest.

I turned quickly on my heal and began to make my way out of the breakfast hall. I pushed through the big, wooden doors and I let out a deep side of relief knowing that I was now a good distance away from Juju.

I made my way down the long, decorated corridor before the spiral stairs came into view. I immediately began to run up the steps and before I knew it, I had made it to reception.
