Jungkook sat in the cold, sterile waiting room, his head buried in his hands, trembling with fear and guilt. His tears wouldn’t stop, and his heart felt like it was being crushed under the weight of helplessness. Every second stretched into eternity, and the silence around him was deafening.
A loud gasp caught his attention, and when he looked up, his parents were rushing toward him. He stumbled to his feet, his vision blurred with tears.
“Mom! Dad!” he cried, running into his mother’s arms as if he were a child again. He clung to her desperately, sobbing into her shoulder.
“M-Mom… Jimin… I-I don’t know what to do… He… He’s…”
“Shh, baby,” Mrs. Jeon said softly, holding her son tightly as she stroked his back. Her voice was soothing, though she was struggling to hold back her own tears.
“It’s going to be okay. Everything will be fine, Jungkook. Trust me.”
Jungkook pulled back slightly, his face red and tear-streaked. “No, Mom, you don’t understand. He was in so much pain, and there was so much blood… I don’t even know how I got him here. I thought—I thought I was going to lose him!”
“Jungkook,” his father said, stepping closer and placing a firm hand on his shoulder. “Look at me.”
Jungkook raised his watery eyes to meet his father’s steady gaze.
“Listen to me, son,” Mr. Jeon said firmly but gently. “Your mom and I are here now. You’re not alone in this. Nothing will happen to Jimin or the baby, okay? You have to stay strong for them.”
“But Dad…” Jungkook’s voice cracked.
“What if something happens to him? I can’t… I can’t lose him.”
“You won’t lose him,” Mr. Jeon said with conviction. “We’ll pray, and we’ll fight. Together. Have faith, son.”
Jungkook nodded weakly, wiping his face with the back of his hand as he tried to steady his breathing.
After what felt like hours, the doors of the operating theatre finally opened, and a doctor stepped out, still wearing her scrubs. Jungkook and his parents rushed to her, their hearts pounding.
“How are they? How’s my husband? And the baby?” Jungkook blurted out, his voice filled with urgency.
The doctor gave a small, reassuring smile. “The baby is perfectly healthy and has already been cleaned and checked. Your husband, Jimin, showed remarkable strength despite the pain and stress he endured. He managed to bring the baby into this world safely.”
Jungkook let out a shaky breath, tears welling up again. “T-Thank you… thank you so much…”
The doctor’s expression grew serious. “But Jimin’s condition is critical. He’s stable for now, but it will take at least two to three days for him to regain consciousness. His body has been through a lot, and we’ll need to monitor him closely.”
