This is a story of two boys with different mindsets. They are both incredibly kind to everyone and have numerous dreams in life. They deeply love their parents and are willing to do anything for them, whether they approve or not. They are remarkably...
Jungkook felt his knees give way, and he would have collapsed if not for his father catching him.
“Can I see him?” Jungkook asked weakly, his voice barely above a whisper.
The doctor nodded. “Only one person at a time, but yes. We’ve moved both Jimin and the baby to a private room. The baby is resting in a crib beside him.”
“Thank you,” Jungkook said, bowing deeply. The nurse led him to the room.
When he stepped inside, the first thing he saw was Jimin lying motionless on the hospital bed, pale and fragile. Jungkook’s heart clenched painfully. He took hesitant steps toward him, his hands trembling.
“Jimin…” he whispered, his voice breaking. He sat down beside him and gently took Jimin’s hand in his own, pressing it to his lips. “I’m so sorry, baby,” he murmured, his tears falling freely. “I’m not a good husband. I wasn’t there when you needed me most. I failed you…”
He leaned forward, brushing Jimin’s hair away from his forehead and placing a soft kiss there. “But I’m here now. And I swear, I’ll never let you suffer alone again. Please come back to me, Jimin. Please…”
A soft cooing sound drew his attention to the crib beside the bed. Jungkook stood slowly, his heart racing as he peered inside. His breath hitched when he saw her—a tiny, perfect bundle with rosy cheeks and dark eyes that reminded him of Jimin.
“She’s just like you,” Jungkook whispered, a soft smile breaking through his tears.
He carefully picked her up, cradling her in his arms as though she were the most precious thing in the world.
“Hi, little one,” he said softly, his voice full of wonder. “I’m your daddy. And you… you’re my little star.”
The baby blinked up at him, her tiny hand reaching out to grab his finger. Her grip was light but firm, and Jungkook felt his heart swell with love.
“You’re amazing,” he whispered, his voice trembling. “Just like your mother. So strong and brave.”
He walked back to the bed, sitting down beside Jimin with their daughter in his arms. He studied her small features, marveling at the resemblance to her other father.
“She’s really beautiful,” Jungkook said, his voice full of emotion. He held her closer, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. As he sat there, holding his daughter and watching over Jimin, Jungkook felt a renewed sense of determination.
“I promise,” he said, his voice steady and resolute. “I’ll take care of you both. No matter what happens, I’ll be here for you. Always.”
Jungkook sat quietly in the chair beside Jimin’s bed, the baby still cradled in his arms. The room was filled with a serene silence, interrupted only by the rhythmic beeping of the machines monitoring Jimin’s condition. Jungkook’s gaze shifted between his unconscious husband and their tiny daughter, who had now drifted off to sleep.
“I don’t know if you can hear me, Jimin,” Jungkook began softly, his voice trembling with emotion. “But she’s perfect… just like you. I wish you could see her right now. She has your eyes, your smile… everything that makes you, you.”
He paused, his fingers gently brushing against Jimin’s pale hand. “I don’t know how you did it, Jimin. After everything you’ve been through, you still brought her into this world. You’re the strongest person I know. And I—” His voice broke, and he swallowed hard, blinking back fresh tears. “I feel so helpless. I couldn’t protect you. I couldn’t stop this from happening.”
The door creaked open, and Mrs. Jeon stepped inside quietly. She approached her son, her eyes softening as she saw him holding the baby.
“She’s beautiful,” Mrs. Jeon whispered, placing a hand on Jungkook’s shoulder.
“She is, isn’t she?” Jungkook said, managing a small smile. “I think she’ll grow up to be just like Jimin. Kind, brave, and full of love.”
Mrs. Jeon nodded, her eyes glistening. “Jungkook, your father and I were talking… and we want you to know that we’re here for you. For Jimin, for the baby, for whatever you need. You don’t have to do this alone.”
“Thanks, Mom,” Jungkook said, his voice thick with gratitude. He looked down at his daughter, who stirred slightly in his arms. “I just want him to wake up. I want him to see her, to hold her. He deserves that.”
“He will,” Mrs. Jeon said firmly, though her voice carried a hint of prayer. “Jimin is strong, Jungkook. Stronger than most. He’ll come back to you.”
Jungkook turned back to Jimin, his fingers lightly tracing the outline of his husband’s hand. “You hear that, Jimin? Mom says you’ll come back to us. And you better, because this little one needs you. I need you.”
The baby let out a soft coo, her tiny hands curling into fists. Jungkook chuckled, a bittersweet sound that filled the room.
“She’s already got your sass,” Jungkook joked, glancing at his mother. “Just look at her. She’s probably thinking, ‘Why is daddy talking so much?’”
Mrs. Jeon laughed softly. “She’s going to keep you on your toes, that’s for sure.”
Suddenly, there was a faint twitch of Jimin’s fingers. Jungkook froze, his eyes snapping to his husband’s hand.
“Jimin?” he whispered, leaning closer. “Jimin, can you hear me?”
The movement stopped, but Jungkook’s heart raced with hope. He gently placed the baby back in the crib and stood, clutching Jimin’s hand tightly.
“Please, Jimin,” he pleaded, his voice trembling. “If you can hear me, give me a sign. Anything.”
A soft groan escaped Jimin’s lips, barely audible, but it was enough to make Jungkook’s knees weak with relief.
“Mom! He… he made a sound!” Jungkook exclaimed, tears streaming down his face.
Mrs. Jeon’s hands flew to her mouth, and she rushed to Jungkook’s side. “That’s a good sign, Jungkook. It means he’s fighting to come back.”
“Jimin,” Jungkook whispered again, his voice full of emotion. “It’s me, Kookie. You’re safe now. The baby is safe. She’s waiting for you, Jimin. We both are.”
Though Jimin didn’t wake fully, his lips twitched, almost as if trying to form words. Jungkook smiled through his tears, pressing a kiss to Jimin’s hand.
“That’s it, baby,” he said softly. “Take your time. We’re not going anywhere. We’ll be right here, waiting for you.”
