"No!. This can't be".
"Maurice, send the men to look for her!!. And let no one return until they've found her, if not they'll be sorry." Sir left angrily and almost shocked. I too didn't know what to do but to follow orders.I leaned against my car with a cigarette in my mouth while smoke escaped my them. I ran my hands through my hair, thinking about the agrument I just had with my girlfriend, Reese. She always gets on my nerves.
Fuck it.
I pushed off my car and was about to enter when I spotted a girl running towards me. She looked lost and desperately in need of assistance.
The closer she got, the more curves I could see she had.
Ugh, what the heck was wrong with me?. I'm never going back to that bar. Their beer was shitty anyway.
I couldn't see her face cleary due to the fact she was running and her hair was in her face.
"Excuse me sir!", she said as she got closer. Her voice was quiet and tender yet filled with panic. Had she ran away or something?.
"Are you okay?" I asked as I alighted from my car, getting a closer look at her. She was wearing what used to look like a wedding dress. I always thought I've experienced everything but a runaway bride was obviously not one of them.
A beautiful one.
I looked at her from head to toe. Her snow white legs were on full display. She must be cold. The way she was rubbing her purple hands together like she was seeking warmth. And her feet also looked sour. My eyes found their way back to her face.
Her pleading face."Are you okay?" I was stunned by the man I came across. He wore a black leather suit jacket and had slick black hair that looked naturally curly. Not too long but long enough for anyone to run and tangle their fingers through them. His light brown eyes looked like they could see through me.
"I..um..I need help please" I shuddered. Was I nervous?. Yes, yes. The intensity of his gaze was not allowing me to concentrate. He rose an eyebrow and stared at me from head to toe. I shifted from beneath his gaze. He was quite menacing...What if he was dangerous?
What if he was worse than the person I was to marry?
"What happened to you?", he asked almost not concerned. I kept on looking back because my dad might be right on my heels.
"I asked you a question", his low voice sounded infront of me. Oh dear.
They're gonna find me soon.
Tears started to gather in my eyes for maybe the fourth time just this night, and unfortunately, I broke down infront of him. How embarrassing.
"Just help me please...they'll find me" I said between sniffs and covered my face. " Who'll find you" he asked, suddenly anxious. "I don't want to go back".I seriously didn't expect her to start crying. She looked hurt and afraid. And looking at her shiver both from the cold and the tears stirred something deep in my chest-- or it could just be the beer. Yh, most likely the beer.
"Who'll find you?", I asked confused. "I don't want to go back" she kept avoiding my question.
Almost immediately, she came close to me and hugged me which took me by surprise. I think she too could tell that I definitely wasn't expecting that. "Please, just help me. Take me anywhere please, I just don't want to go back", she rose her face from my chest and my expression almost gave something away. Her face was ...Gorgeous.
She was flushed with rosy cheeks. and her eyes. The glacial-green pools shielding her eyes cracked, revealing a silver of vulnerability that grabbed a hold of my heart and squeezed. I gradually loosened myself from her grip, making her look a little redder than she was a minute ago.
I heaved a long sigh. "Fine, get in", I'm so gonna regret this. She cleaned her face with her sleeve and whispered a repeated 'thank you', then got in.---------------------------------
Everywhere was rowdy and filled with murmurs. I too was confused. Everyone kept throwing glances my way and if not for anything, I'd feel offended. My husband said he'd get her down since Maurice was taking too long.
Walking past the guests, I heard what made me stop in my tracks.
"I heard she escaped....what a shame....That's a disgrace...I wonder.."
'Escaped?' I thought. I thought I just talked to her, how could she have escaped?. My eyes started searching the room and then landed on familiar green eyes that looked composed but enraged as he sat down with his fist folded on his cheek and legs elegantly crossed.
The guests started leaving in bunches and the parents of the groom were shouting at my husband. This is bad, what would happen to the company?.Hey!
I'm gonna be posting the images of the main characters in my chapters and I'll try to write everyday.
XOXO Gizmobluu.
