"ha-eun..."
"ha-eun," ji chang-wook shook her body slightly.
ha-eun was immediately woken up and heard her phone ringing. she glanced at the digital clock on her nightstand. it was literally 2 in the morning. she picked up her phone and saw that it was her mother who called her.
"eomma," ha-eun told chang-wook. he nods.
she answered the call and greeted her mother.
"eomma," ha-eun said, closing her eyes.
"ha-eun! your father just slipped in the bathroom," her mother said, crying and whining.
"what!?" ha-eun exclaimed, sitting up.
"we're in the ambulance right now, on our way to seoul medical centre," her mother said, sniffling. her words were blurred, but ha-eun could get what she was talking about.
"alright. we'll head there now," ha-eun said before their call ended.
"what happened?" chang-wook asked, also sitting down.
"dad fell in the bathroom. we're going to seoul medical centre," ha-eun said as she quickly walked to the closet and changed her clothes. chang-wook did the same.
less than 5 minutes later, they were already in the car, heading to seoul medical centre.
ha-eun was so anxious and worried about her parents that she couldn't stop sighing in the car while telling chang-wook to drive faster even though that was the fastest he could go.
as chang-wook drove towards the emergency area, ha-eun saw her mother getting held by a medical personnel while crying. ha-eun quickly got out of the car while her eyes looked into the ambulance.
she was shocked to see that a few medical professionals were inside, and she saw her father was given chest compressions.
"eomma," ha-eun held her mother's arms, hugging her.
"haeun-ah! his heart stopped!" her mother sobbed while hugging her.
ha-eun couldn't bear to watch her father get chest compression. ha-eun just hugged her mother who was crying on her shoulders and hugging her tightly.
about 15 minutes later, they watched the final decision being made.
"call it," the doctor on the scene said in defeat.
"time of death, 3:01 am," another doctor said while taking off his rubber gloves.
ha-eun hugged her mother, who screamed and cried in agony. chang-wook just looked at ha-eun who was closing her eyes and hugging her mother tightly.
the doctor got out of the ambulance and approached the family.
"we're sorry. we did everything we could," the doctor said.
the doctor didn't wait for the family's reply because there was nothing to say about someone's death. especially a husband and a father. so the doctor just left them.
ha-eun herself was still in denial about what was happening.

"so, postponing the wedding?"
ha-eun smiled thinly and nodded, "the plan is in two months. let us finish the mourning period in about 49 days and then we'll continue with the wedding."
suho nodded, "understandable."
"that's what chang-wook is doing right now. so busy on the phone," ha-eun said, glancing at chang-wook who was standing at the corner, talking with someone on the phone.
"no one prepared you for this. i hope noona and your mother and changwook-hyung will be alright," baekhyun said.
ha-eun smiled, "no worries. i'm just worried about mom. other than that, i think chang-wook and i are okay."
"ha-eun," a hand was on her shoulder.
when she turned, she saw taemin and min-ho.
"oh, hi," ha-eun smiled and stood up before hugging the two of them.
"we're so sorry this happened at this time," minho said, hugging her tightly.
"yeah, it's okay," ha-eun said, patting him.
"key is flying back from japan. onew is on his way already," taemin said.
ha-eun smiled blandly and nodded, "no worries."
"we're sorry we couldn't come earlier," minho said.
"no, it's fine," ha-eun shook her head.
"what happened?" taemin asked ha-eun as they sat together with exo.
"dad woke up and went to the bathroom. fell and hit his head on the toilet bowl. the floor mat was slippery and dad fell forward and hit his head," ha-eun told them.
"aigoo," they reacted.
"what about your wedding? it's next week," minho said.
"postponed to in 2 months. we've moved the date," ha-eun told them.
"alright. just text us when the date is, okay? for now, you guys are in mourning period. i heard lee soo man is coming too," minho said.
"oh really?" ha-eun asked, glancing at her phone to look at the time.
"yeah. i think he's coming with some of suju's members," minho told her.
"i'm sorry, i was just so busy, i didn't look at my phone for hours already. just to look at the clock and to answer calls," ha-eun said.
"no, don't worry," taemin said, rubbing her arms.
"yeah. don't worry," minho said.
"you're in your mourning period. just take time to be calm, handle some things and that's it. furthermore, you guys are just three of you," taemin told ha-eun.
"but mom's doing better than i thought she would," ha-eun turned to look at her mother who was in the room where her father was laid. she was just sitting in the room quietly. her head down low, probably sleeping.
"text us if you need anything. we'll always help you out whenever we can," min-ho said.
"i know. i know you all will help out. don't worry," ha-eun smiled.
