"I can't believe you're working with a damn enforcer!"
Mahl's admonishment had never left her mind since he spoke it. The thought constantly echoed through her, like it was her own conscience reminding her she was betraying everything she stood for in the pursuit of vengeance.
She didn't know if it was worth it, and if she stopped lying to herself, it didn't matter anymore. She had nothing more to live for past making Silco pay. And if she died in the pursuit of revenge, well...
She wouldn't be the first, and there's bound to be more fools throwing what little remains of their life away.
As the train slammed through the enormous gates, she smirked. At least she was self-aware enough to call it like it was. The locomotive slammed into the stopper, rebounding a foot or two. The enforcers piled out of the train, charging forwards with their rifles raised. Most workers were wise enough to raise their hands in surrender and accept the fate that befell them.
Some weren't.
More accurately, a kid was slippery enough to slide out of the enforcer's grasp and trigger the alarm. Immediately, blaring klaxons and scintillating red lights overtook their senses. So much for hard and fast.
For a second, it seemed Jayce like it was simply an alert system for an emergency evacuation. He looked around, waiting for any sign of armed defenders, finding less than none. That was, until half a dozen enforcers fell through the open air a level above them. They screamed, a sound soon echoed by more, until it abruptly stopped. They had hit the ground.
The other enforcers raised their rifles, firing at the near-imperceptible assailants as Jayce steeled himself. 'Something that large shouldn't run that fast' He thought as a duo of enforcers that didn't find themselves on the bridge fired at the bulky figures. One was tackled from behind, impaled by the blades that were affixed to their arms. The other turned, firing at the one that killed his friend, before he too was taken from behind.
On the bridge, only one enforcer still stood with Jayce. He fired at the fast-approaching figure, the shots bouncing ineffectually off the metal harness it wore. Cocking the lever and pulling the trigger, nothing happened. His breath quickened as he inserted a bullet he held into the gun, raising his rifle once more.
It did nothing for him as the Chemguard sweeped his blade through the enforcer's gut, nearly severing him into two pieces. He breathed his last few breaths, raggedy, shaking breaths that carried his lover's name on them almost inaudibly until the second blade finished the process.
Jayce slowly backed away as the Chemguard slammed the enforcer irreverently to the ground, his body inside twitching and spasming from the overdose of Simmer injected into him. Behind him, one slowly trudged towards him. It readied itself for the kill, raising its blade as it sped up.
However, the Shimmered security never even got close. Vi, aided by gravity and rage, slammed her gauntlet into the Chemguard's glass visor, the Hextech inside sending the body flying down to a level below them.
She landed, standing to her full height with a smirk, winking at the stunned man before turning to face the threat. Entering a fighting stance, she readied to face the dozen security suits that circled them, as did Jayce.
"Time to see if that hammer's just for show, pretty boy." Vi chuckled, as the Chemguard slowly filed onto the bridge.
"Councilor." He corrected, as the two sides charged. Vi rushed in as he spun his hammer a full revolution, slamming it into the side of the first security suit. It flew to the side, hitting the railing and falling several stories unceremoniously.
