Shadows of the Serpent

Harry and Hermione spent the next few days buried in research, trying to uncover more about magical creature inheritances. Harry's dreams continued to be filled with serpentine whispers, urging him to embrace his true nature. The more he learned, the more he realized how complex and dangerous his situation was becoming.

One afternoon, Harry was in the library, absorbed in a book about ancient magical creatures, when Draco Malfoy approached him. Harry looked up, surprised to see Draco looking uncharacteristically nervous.

"Potter, can we talk?" Draco asked, glancing around to make sure they were alone.

Harry nodded, closing the book. "Sure, Malfoy. What's on your mind?"

Draco sat down across from him, his usual arrogance replaced by a rare vulnerability. "I've been noticing changes too. I think I might be experiencing a creature inheritance."

Harry's eyebrows shot up. "Really? What kind of changes?"

Draco hesitated, then lowered his voice. "My senses are heightened, and I've been having strange dreams. My father mentioned something about our family having Veela blood, but he never went into detail."

Harry nodded in understanding. "I've been going through something similar. We need to figure this out together."

Draco looked relieved. "Thank you, Potter. I never thought I'd say this, but I think we might need each other's help."

Before Harry could respond, a chill ran down his spine. He turned to see Tom Riddle standing in the shadows, his eyes locked onto Harry with an intensity that made his heart race.

"Harry," Tom's voice was smooth and cold, "we need to talk."

Draco stiffened, instinctively reaching for his wand. Harry quickly stood up, placing a hand on Draco's arm. "It's alright, Malfoy. I'll handle this."

Draco looked hesitant but nodded, stepping back. Tom's eyes flicked to Draco, a dangerous glint in them, before returning to Harry.

"Come with me," Tom commanded, his tone brooking no argument.
