Thump. Thump. Thump.
The explosions silenced and all you could hear was Peter's heart beat.
Thump. Thump. Thump.
Am I dead?
"Yn..." Peter spoke lightly and stayed frighteningly still. "Look..."
You opened your eyes and remembered where you were, feeling your own heartbeat once again. The reality of it all settled into your sore bones as the dry and hot air sliced across different open tears in your suit.
You leaned away from his chest, arms still holding him as if he would disappear again, and followed his gaze.
The enormous ship in the sky had been firing all of those flaming missiles but was now aiming seemingly into the stars. A bright figure came barreling out of the clouds, the beaming bombs doing absolutely nothing to steer it away.
Within seconds, it plummeted through the top of the ship and exited through the bottom, like a bullet through cardboard. The missiles quickly stopped shooting as it curved rapidly and slowed down, only to fly back up through the bottom of the ship like a heat seeking missile.
"Awe yeah!" Rocket cheered through your mask as the ship exploded vigorously. It popped through the top and the new damage exploded just as violently. Huge chunks of the ship broke off, catching fire quickly as they free fell and crashed into the distant, and now completely exposed, lake.
The being who did this floated above all, watching as the ship collapsed into itself. You furrowed your brows beneath your mask as you noticed it was the same woman from years ago who had brought Tony back from space.
Peter shifted against you and clenched onto the gauntlet tightly, watching the remnants of the spacecraft begin to fall. The woman, who's name you couldn't even remember, watched with solace as her entire body pulsed with an almost blinding glow.
"Oh my god..." You breathed out with a sense of both awe and relief.
The ground shook suddenly as the remnants of ship crashed into the water and your grip on Peter tightened. It reminded you too much of your short but torturous time in the cave.
You were rattled from your shock as someone plunged abruptly in front of you and Peter. Your blade slithered into your palm as you pushed him back and spun around, ready to defend him with your dying breath. You dropped your weapon as soon as you realized whose face you were pointing it in.
"Hey, Kids." She greeted confidently as she stared at the two of you with little to no emotion.
"It's you!" You breathed out and visibly relaxed, letting your mask fall.
"It's you." The woman spoke back coolly, and glanced behind you. You turned around to see Peter clutching the gauntlet where you had shoved him backward.
"Hi, I'm... I'm Peter Parker." He stammered, befuddled as he looked between the two of you. He was clearly so shaken already.
"Hey Peter Parker." She replied. "You got something for me?" You felt weird that you were ready for whatever was next before remembering the power source you had nearby. Even if you wanted to quit or take a rest, it wouldn't allow you. You sucked in a breath and picked your sword up quickly as Peter grunted and pushed himself to his feet.
His nose actively bled and his cheeks were bruised but you knew he would be okay.
I've hit him harder than that.
He gazed behind you with fear and you followed his eyes. Hundreds of Outriders, gunmen (Chitauri), and the monstrous ape looking creatures barreled towards you, drawn by the glove that was now exposed for all to see. Your teeth ground together as you summoned the second sword from where it had been blasted away.
