Rhea wasn’t sure what she had expected, but Aryan Khanna in person was… distracting.

His pictures had been attractive, but they didn’t capture the presence he had.

He was tall, effortlessly confident, and carried himself with a certain dangerous charm—like a man who knew exactly how much power he held.

His dark hair was slightly messy, and there was something about the way he rolled up the sleeves of his crisp white shirt that felt both casual and intentional.

And his eyes? Sharp. Intelligent. Amused.

Rhea’s irritation momentarily faltered. She came out of her trance as she saw him intently looking at her as if making sure if she was really there. She mentally rolled her eyes at him.

Well if he'd have been a minute more late, I'd have been gone definitely.

She grew conscious under his continuous gaze. Not knowing what to do, she waved at him. He seems to come out of his thoughts as he gave her a small smile and started walking towards her.

"Rhea?", he asked as he stood tall in front of her. She looked up, and her breath hitched—just slightly.

Damn! He definitely got some charms to kill for.

Rhea nodded, words seemed to struck in her throat at his deep voice.

Composing herself, she shook his hand he had extended as a greeting gesture.

"You must be Aryan, right?" She said as she shook his hand ignoring the effect of the warmth of his hand against hers.

"Yeah!" He responded gesturing her to take a seat.

“I’m so sorry I’m late,” He apologised, sliding into the seat across from her. “Traffic was insane.”

“It’s Mumbai,” she replied, arching a brow. “When isn’t it?”

His lips curved slightly, amused. “Fair point.”

Despite herself, Rhea felt her own lips twitch.

Alright, maybe he wasn’t a complete disaster.

Aryan and Rhea sat in silence as the waiter placed their order on the table.

Rhea took a sip of her drink, studying Aryan who was busy exchanging pleasantries with the waiter as the latter smiled at him.

“So,” she started, getting his attention as the waiter left them alone. “Tell me something about you that isn’t in your profile.”

Aryan leaned back, considering her. “You first.”

She narrowed her eyes. “I asked first.”

His smirk deepened. Damn.

“Alright,” he relented. “I used to play chess competitively as a kid.”

Rhea tilted her head. “Really? That actually explains a lot.”

Aryan chuckled. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

She shrugged. “You seem like the type to strategize every move before making it.”

His smile didn’t waver, but something flickered in his gaze.

If only she knew.
