A Day of Peace Before the StormThe next day, you allowed yourself to relax.
You played video games, watched movies, and let yourself feel normal for once.
Jun, your personal butler, was an incredible cook. Every meal he made was perfection, and you found yourself eating more than usual.
Freya, surprisingly, was great company.
The two of you talked for hours, sharing stories about your lives, your struggles, and even laughing together.
You learned more about her—her dreams, her fears, and how she met Zain.
She was tough, but beneath that, she was loyal and kind.
For the first time in a while, you felt like you had a true friend.
But peace never lasts forever.
And the next evening... everything changed.
The Meeting at Sunset
As the sun dipped below the horizon, you found yourself in a car with Freya, Jun, and Nicolas, heading toward a restaurant.
Freya had been vague about who you were meeting, but from the way she carried herself, you knew they were important.
When you arrived, a group of young adults sat at a long table.
The moment you stepped forward, one of them—a guy with messy blond hair and a cocky smirk—looked you over and snorted.
"Oh? Is she Zain's bitch?"
Your body froze.
A wave of discomfort washed over you.
Before you could react, Freya slapped him across the back of the head so hard his face nearly hit the table.
"Watch your damn mouth, Asta."
Asta groaned, rubbing his head. "Alright, alright—shit, Freya. That hurt."
"Good," she said flatly.
Then he turned to you, looking awkward.
"...Sorry," he muttered.
You didn't say anything. You still felt uneasy.
That was when two others—a young man with soft brown hair and a girl with long dark curls—stepped forward.
"Sorry about him," the girl said with an apologetic smile. "I'm Mira."
The guy beside her nodded. "And I'm Luke. We've heard a lot about you."
You blinked. "You have?"
Mira chuckled. "Zain talks about you all the time."
Your heart softened a little at that.
As you sat down, you slowly relaxed, chatting with Luke and Mira as the group ordered food.
But then—the conversation took a dark turn.
The Truth About Your Family
Freya leaned forward, her voice turning serious.
"So, about the house."
The table went silent.
Then, Asta—the same guy who insulted you earlier—spoke up.
"Oh yeah, I already applied to buy it," he said casually. "We'll probably get it in less than a month."
You froze.
