Malia's POV

I wake up for the second day in a row between Ruby and Kylie, the both of them glued to me, I feel horrible for worrying them so much, I pushed so hard saying I wasn't a child and that they could trust me, then I let them down again. Everytime I look at any of them I can't help but feel guilty, they came to visit me to find out I failed them again,

I owe it to them to do something so I gently roll Kylies arms off me, then I take off Ruby's and slowly sneak out of bed, I creep out of the room quietly shutting the door behind me, across the hall I open the other door peering into the spare room, Jadah and Dior are tucked up together, I'm honestly really grateful that Dior is going to be staying with me, I'm glad that she got an opportunity out of this too and it makes me happy that I get to share this with one of my best friends.

I go out to the kitchen determined to make things up to them so I do what I do best, cook, I know exactly what to make them too, I know Kylie's favourite is dumplings and it just so happens that the rest of them love them too. I grab out pots and pans, all of my ingredients and get started making some dough, I do that quickly and set it aside to give it more time to soften, next up I start on my filling, I'm not about to force feed them vegetarian food so to my absolute horror I have to use pork, obviously I make a mushroom filling as well though for Ruby and I. When that's finished I get started on my soup, I turn on the stove and throw my ingredients in slowly stirring it,

"Aren't you supposed to be in bed?" I hear a voice mutter, I quickly look up to see Kylie leaned up against the kitchen island, she's wearing a large oversized hoodie and her hair is a little dishevelled from sleep but she still somehow looks as gorgeous as always,

"Maybe" I feel my cheeks heat up a little under her gaze,

"You're making soup and dumplings? Jesus christ Lia" She laughs,

"I wanted to make you something nice" I say continuing to stir around the soup,

"You don't need to, we're here to take care of you" She walks around wrapping her arms around me from behind,

"And this is me showing my gratitude for that" I sigh,

"I really just want to hold you" She says resting her head on my shoulder,

"Just for a little to let the dough ferment longer" I turn off the stove,

"Okay" She kisses my cheek guiding me over to the couch, she lays down first before pulling me down on top of her, I let myself relax curling my head into her chest, she slips her hands under my sweater letting her hands rub against my bare back,

"I'm really sorry" I sigh,

"I'm not mad at you, I just wish you had told me before going to those measures" She says,

"I didn't want you to think I was weak" I admit,

"You could never be weak Lia, you are one of the strongest people I know"

"I let you down"

"You made a mistake, I know you won't make it again and I'm okay with that"

"I love you so much" She says and I lift my head up to look at her, I'm met with one of her signature warm smiles, I can just see it in her eyes, the way she looks at me out of pure adoration, her pupils dilate when she says it, I know she truely means it.

"I love you too" I shuffle further up cupping her cheek in my hand before softly kissing her, it's slow yet powerful, it's not messy and desperate, it's delicate yet perfect to the moment, we both pull back at the same time, looking each other in the eyes as we attempt to catch our breath, a mutual understanding between us, that kiss was everything, like it was just what we needed,
