"i haven't been back home in two weeks," i laugh lightly. "i'll see you in 3 days when rwe comes to Atlanta okay? it's gonna be fine, we got this."
"what if you sneak me in your carry on?" he mumbled.
"baby that'll never work."
"yes it will, lets just try it."
"3 days is nothing okay?"
"fine but i'm gonna miss you."
"i'm gonna miss you too but we can facetime and text and i promise it'll be like no time at all."

and it was.
it was like no time at all every time we were apart. we would see each other for games and we would be right where we left off.
Cam had our next game in New York so we all met up in the airport in Atlanta before our connecting flight. Nelson and i were sitting in a chair listening to music with my air pods while we waited for everyone to check in.
"Nelson!" i heard her voice from across the fucking room. Camille ran over and stopped dead in her tracks when she saw me sitting in Nelson's lap.
"oh hey Lj," she said in a fake sincere voice. "i didn't think you'd be here."
"well i am on the team and the connecting flight is in my home city," i said in a matter-of-fact tone. Nelson just placed his hand on my hip to calm me down.
"baby didn't you say you wanted starbucks? oh look there starbucks is cmon," Nelson pulled me out of the seat grabbing my tote bag along with his backpack, practically dragging me away.
"i wasn't gonna say anything bad Nelson."
"yeah but Nai was if we stood there any longer so lets get starbucks and not worry about her."
