Paddy pulled into the airport drop-off zone, exhaling in relief. "Just in time," he muttered as he parked and grabbed their carry-on bags. Y/N, still a little groggy from the early morning rush, stretched her arms and yawned.
Inside the airport, they navigated through check-in and security surprisingly quickly. With a few minutes to spare before boarding, Paddy pulled out his wallet and handed it to Y/N.
"Go grab us some snacks for the flight," he said. "I'll keep an eye on our bags."
Y/N smirked, taking the wallet. "Dangerous move, trusting me with this."
Paddy chuckled. "Just don't buy the whole store."
She disappeared into a nearby shop while Paddy scrolled through his phone, keeping their carry-ons close. A few minutes later, Y/N returned, triumphantly holding up a bag of chips, chocolates, and two bottles of water.
"This should keep us alive," she said, handing back his wallet.
"Good choices," he approved, taking her hand as they headed to their gate.
Soon, the boarding call came, and they made their way onto the plane. Paddy helped stow their luggage in the overhead bins before settling into his seat beside Y/N, who eagerly claimed the window spot.
As the plane took off, they started watching a movie together, Y/N curled up slightly toward him. Before long, the early morning caught up with her, and she dozed off, her head resting against Paddy's shoulder.
He smiled, adjusting slightly so she could be more comfortable. He watched the rest of the movie alone, occasionally glancing at Y/N as she slept peacefully.
Hours later, as the pilot announced their descent into America, Paddy gently shook Y/N's shoulder.
"Hey, doll, wake up. We're landing."
She mumbled something incoherent before blinking her eyes open. "Already?"
"Yeah," he chuckled. "You slept through most of it."
She yawned, stretching as the plane touched down. "Guess I needed it."
Paddy grinned, squeezing her hand. "Welcome to America."
With that, they prepared to disembark, ready for whatever adventure awaited them next.
As they stepped off the plane and into the bustling New York airport, Y/N and Paddy made their way through the terminal, pulling their luggage behind them. The air was filled with the sounds of hurried travelers, rolling suitcases, and distant flight announcements.
Finding a bench outside near the taxi stand, they sat down to wait. Y/N leaned against Paddy, still shaking off the last bits of sleep from the flight.
"New York already feels alive," she mused, watching the constant flow of people.
Paddy chuckled. "That's because it never sleeps, just like they say."
A taxi finally pulled up, and Paddy stood, grabbing their luggage. The driver helped load their bags as Paddy slid into the seat beside Y/N. He quickly typed the address of their hotel into his phone and showed it to the driver.
As they rode through the city, Y/N's eyes lit up with excitement. She pulled out her phone, snapping pictures of the towering buildings, the flashing billboards, and the rush of people moving through the streets.
"We really made it," she murmured, grinning as she captured a shot of Times Square in the distance.
Paddy smiled, watching her excitement. "Told you this trip would be worth it."
Luckily, they had beaten the worst of rush hour, and before long, the taxi pulled up in front of their hotel. Paddy paid the driver while unloading their bags. The hotel entrance was grand, with elegant glass doors and a golden-lit lobby welcoming them inside.
Stepping up to the front desk, Paddy handed over his reservation details. The receptionist smiled, clicking away at the computer before handing over their keycards.
"Enjoy your stay," she said warmly.
Y/N and Paddy made their way to the elevators, their suitcases rolling behind them. As the elevator doors closed, Y/N leaned against the wall with a tired but satisfied sigh.
"This already feels like the start of something amazing," she said, smiling up at Paddy.
He wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. "And it's only just beginning."
With a soft ding, the elevator reached their floor, and they stepped out, ready to settle into their room and start their adventure in New York.
Paddy slid the keycard into the lock, and with a soft beep, the door to their hotel room clicked open. Stepping inside, Y/N immediately gasped, her eyes widening as she took in the luxurious space.
The room was modern and elegant, with sleek furniture, warm lighting, and a massive window overlooking the New York skyline. The city lights sparkled against the evening sky, stretching endlessly beyond the glass.
"Paddy, this view..." Y/N whispered in awe, walking toward the window. "It's incredible."
Paddy smiled as he shrugged off his jacket and kicked off his shoes. "Only the best for you."
Y/N turned to him with a grin before grabbing the hotel's room service menu from the desk. She jumped onto the plush bed, sprawling comfortably as she flipped through the pages.
"What do you think they have?" she mused, scanning the options.
Paddy plopped down beside her, resting on his side as he peered at the menu. "Let's see... burgers, pasta, seafood-ooh, steak. That sounds good."
Y/N chuckled. "You always go for steak."
"And you always go for pasta," he teased.
She nudged him playfully before turning the menu toward him. "Okay, but seriously, this all looks amazing."
They spent the next few minutes discussing what sounded best, laughing as they read out fancy dish names in dramatic voices. Eventually, Paddy glanced at her and asked, "So, what do you wanna do while we're here?"
Y/N didn't hesitate. "Dinner tonight. Somewhere nice."
Paddy smirked. "A fancy night out? I like the sound of that."
With that plan set, they got up and began unpacking some of their belongings, placing toiletries in the bathroom and hanging up clothes. Once everything was settled, they started getting ready for their first night out in New York, excitement buzzing between them as they anticipated what the city had in store.
