Aarohi's voice echoed loudly as she stood inches from Tarun's face. "I've told you already, I only want to watch horror a movie!" she exclaimed.
Tarun matched Aarohi's intensity, his voice firm. "No, we're watching a comedy, and that's final!" he shouted back.
The argument escalated into a heated shouting match, with neither Aarohi nor Tarun willing to concede. Their loud voices filled the air, each one determined to get their way.
The door swung open, revealing their furious mother. Aarohi and Tarun were taken aback, their argument frozen in silence.
"Tomorrow is a holiday, but your father has an important meeting to attend, and he needs to wake up early," their mother scolded. "And yet, you both are creating such a ruckus! The elderly uncle from next door will come complaining... Now, go to sleep quietly, or Aarohi, you'll have to go to your room!"
Tarun broke the silence, "No, Mumma, we won't make any more noise and we'll go to sleep. You too, please go to sleep."
Aarohi nodded in agreement, her earlier defiance replaced by a sheepish expression.
After 10 minutes...
After ten minutes of heated debate, they finally reached a compromise: a romantic movie. "I'll choose the movie," Aarohi declared, seizing the mouse and starting to browse through Netflix to find the perfect film.
After scrolling through Netflix for a few minutes, Aarohi turned to Tarun and asked, "Want to watch Sanam Teri Kasam?"
Tarun responded with a hint of boredom, "How many times are you going to watch the same movie? Besides, you always end up crying after watching it, don't you?"
Aarohi shot back, "I don't cry, you do... Want to bet? Loser pays 100 rupees!"
Tarun replied with a confident smirk, "Bring it on! I'm ready to collect my winnings!"
As the movie began, Tarun and Aarohi settled in, lying on their stomachs, with a duvet covering them, creating a cozy atmosphere.
At the end....
Aarohi's eyes welled up with tears, but she fought to hold them back, glancing sideways at Tarun. To her surprise, he was already overcome with emotion, tears streaming down his face as he struggled to composed himself.
Aarohi couldn't help but smirk, "So, who's crying now? Hand over my 100 rupees!"
As Tarun's tears continued to flow, Aarohi's smirk faltered, and her heart went out to him. She thought to herself, "No matter what, he's still my brother." In that instant, all the earlier tension and arguments melted away, and she felt a deep sense of connection to him. Seeing him in tears was like seeing her own other half cry, and her instincts urged her to comfort and protect him.
Aarohi's expression softened, and she wrapped her arms around Tarun, pulling him into a tight hug. "Arey yaar, everything was just a script, don't cry so much," she whispered, trying to comfort him.
Tarun reciprocated the hug, wrapping his arms tightly around Aarohi. As they held each other, the tension and emotions slowly dissipated. After a few moments, Tarun's tears subsided, and he composed himself, feeling a sense of calm and reassurance in his sister's embrace.
.....
As Tarun scrolled through the options, Aarohi asked, "What's next?"
Tarun suggested, "How about we start a new series?"
But Aarohi vetoed the idea, "No, we won't be able to finish it. Let's watch an old movie instead."
DDLJ!!??!!" They both shouted at the same time .
Their eyes met, and they burst out laughing at the simultaneous outburst, the tension and emotion of the earlier moment replaced by a warm, shared enthusiasm for the classic Bollywood film.
Tarun's pov...
Seeing Aarohi laugh with me is one of the best moments of my life. As twins, our bond is unbreakable. I can literally feel her emotions - her pain, happiness, sorrow, and every sentiment in between. Lately, when she was giving me the cold shoulder, I was a mess. I couldn't concentrate on anything, to be honest. But for now, I'm not going to push her to talk about what happened. First, I need to regain her trust. Once she's comfortable with me again, I'll ask her what went wrong.
As I gazed at Aarohi, I was captivated by her radiant smile and infectious laughter as she watched the movie. Her smile has a way of illuminating even the darkest of rooms, and in that moment, I knew that I wanted to be the one who brings that light to her life. I wanted to be the reason she smiles and laughs, and I wanted to cherish those moments with her, forever.
Sibling squabbles are just a part of life, and I'm pretty sure every brother-sister duo fights as much as we do. But despite all the bickering and teasing, our bond remains unbreakable.
Aarohi's voice cut through Tarun's reverie, "Oye Tarun, go make some Maggi and bring it here!" Her sudden request snapped him back to reality.
