I woke up, grabbed my phone, and instinctively opened Instagram. My eyes landed on the message-I had sent it, she had seen it, but there was no reply. Not that I was surprised. I knew she wouldn't respond. She's an introvert, and to her, I'm just another stranger. Nothing more. Just like Shristi was. But funny, isn't it? She didn't take long to befriend Shristi.

A bitter thought crept in, a subconscious mockery-You're a boy. She must have already decided what kind of person you are. Your so-called personality? Already judged, already labeled.

I shook my head, dismissing all thoughts, and headed straight to bed, determined and ready to face college today.

"Good morning, bro," Arjun said as I entered the living room, fully ready to leave for college. I glanced over and saw him sitting at the table, looking relaxed.

"Good morning, You're not ready yet?" I asked, placing my bag on the sofa. I sat at the dining table, grabbed a glass of juice and a piece of toast, and started eating.

"Yep, but isn't it too early? I mean, class starts at 11, and it's just 8:30. You got up way too early today," he said, standing up and then sitting down at the dining table.

"Oh, I need to go early today," I said casually.

"Why?" he asked, curiosity evident in his voice.

"Have some important work," I said, finishing my juice.

"What important work?" he asked while taking a toast and spreading butter on it.

"Why are you asking so many questions today?" I asked, raising a brow.

"Bro, I'm just asking. You never go this early-hell, you don't even wake up this early," he said, pouring juice into his glass.

"I'm just going because I have some work, okay? Stop with your questions!" I said, raising my voice slightly.

"I've known you for a long time, and you never wake up this early-let alone go to college when class clearly starts at 11. So why now?" he asked, his curiosity not letting up.

"Stop repeating yourself! You've already said I don't wake up early at least three times-enough with the blah blah! Just stop!" I snapped, frustration boiling over.

"I have some work to do, and it's personal," I added sharply, my patience wearing thin.

"College mein kaam personal kaise ho sakta hai?" he asked, narrowing his eyes.

"You know what? I'm done with your questions," I said, standing up and grabbing my bag from the sofa.

"Shristi talked to me yesterday," he said casually.

"So what? It's your daily routine anyway," I said, bored out of my mind. "After all, she is your girlfriend."

This guy was definitely going to make me late today.
