Third Person's POV

The night of the movie premiere arrived, and the atmosphere was electric. The cinema buzzed with excitement, celebrities and filmmakers mingling in the lobby, and flashing lights from cameras capturing the stars of the night. Rain, Kyla, Tracy, and Marvin made their way through the crowd, but there was a palpable tension that only Rain and Tracy could feel.

Despite the lively energy around them, it was as if the world had quieted for them. They stood next to each other, close, but the silence between them was deafening. Neither spoke, but their eyes did. They exchanged glances so intense, it was as though they were having an entire conversation through their gazes. The fierce look that passed between them was undeniable—raw and charged, but it soon shifted to something softer, something unexplainable.

Kyla noticed it immediately, her gaze flicking from Rain to Tracy. Her confusion grew with each passing second, as she tried to make sense of the change she was witnessing. She’d always been able to read the bond between Rain and Tracy, but tonight... tonight was different.

Usually, Rain and Kyla would stick together, the inseparable duo at every event. But tonight, it was as if Rain was tethered to Tracy in a way Kyla couldn’t understand. Tracy and Marvin stayed close too, sharing glances and quiet words as they walked together, but it was Rain and Tracy who seemed lost in their own world.

Kyla’s jealousy simmered beneath the surface. She couldn’t hide it anymore. The puzzle pieces finally clicked in her mind—after that night, something had definitely happened between Rain and Tracy. Her best friend, the girl she’d been by her side since childhood, the one she built dreams with, was slipping away. And Kyla wasn’t ready for it.

Unable to contain her emotions, Kyla nudged Rain gently, a teasing grin on her face. “Hey,” she said casually, though the pain in her chest was undeniable. “You’re doing great tonight. You’ve made it. But, uh, don’t you think it’s time you talk to Tracy? She’s just over there.” She pointed in Tracy’s direction, the hint of something deeper in her words that she couldn’t fully disguise.

Rain, blind to Kyla’s true feelings, smiled at her. "You’re such a good friend, Kyla. I appreciate it, but I’m happy here. This is my night. You know how long I’ve worked for this. I’ll talk to Tracy in a minute.”

Kyla’s heart shattered, the words like a dagger through her chest. It was clear to her now: Rain was slipping away, and nothing she did could stop it. All the years they spent together, all the dreams they’d built side by side, it was all crumbling. In an instant, Rain had found someone else. Kyla wasn’t sure if she could take it anymore.

"I’ll... I’ll be right back," Kyla mumbled, her voice cracking. She forced a smile, but inside, her heart was breaking. Without another word, she excused herself, telling Rain she needed to go to the bathroom. She rushed off, her thoughts a blur of pain.

Rain, though confused by Kyla’s sudden departure, shrugged it off. She was too focused on the premiere, too caught up in the success that was finally within her reach. She had worked so hard, from being the lonely kid in the orphanage to now, standing at the top of her game. She had made it—her dreams were real. She didn’t realize how much it was all changing.

Meanwhile, Kyla ran through the hallways of the cinema, her heart heavy and tears threatening to fall. She found herself in the restroom, where the floodgates finally opened. She sank to the floor, tears streaming down her face as the pain consumed her.

Why is she doing this? Kyla thought, clutching her chest as if it could stop the ache. I’ve been there for her through everything... and now she’s walking away. She doesn’t need me anymore.

The memories of their shared moments flooded her mind. The late-night talks, the promises they made, the future they’d always talked about. But now, it was all slipping away. Rain was finding someone else, and Kyla felt like she was losing her grip on everything she had known.

I wanted to be the one she needed. I wanted to be the one who was always there... but she doesn’t need me anymore.

Kyla squeezed her eyes shut, but the tears wouldn’t stop. She was losing her best friend, the one person she had loved and cared for since they were children, and it was more painful than she ever imagined.

Back at the premiere, Rain and Tracy were standing together, their eyes locked once more. The tension was palpable, but this time, there was no hiding it. The feelings they shared, the connection, was undeniable.

Rain took a deep breath, her heart racing. "Tracy," she started, her voice a little unsteady. "Can I ask you something?"

Tracy turned to her, a soft smile on her face, but she could see the uncertainty in Rain’s eyes. "Of course. What’s on your mind?"

Rain hesitated, then blurted out, “Would you... would you be my girlfriend?”

Tracy froze, her eyes widening in surprise. It was fast, too fast, and she hadn’t expected it. But as she looked into Rain’s eyes, the warmth, the sincerity, the rawness of her emotions—it all made sense. Tracy had always felt something for Rain, something deeper than friendship, but this... this was real.

Before she could say anything, her gaze softened, and with a small nod, she whispered, "Yes." The word felt like it held the weight of everything they had shared, everything they would share.

Rain smiled, relief flooding her chest. "Really?" she asked, her voice almost childlike, unsure if she was hearing it right.

Tracy nodded again, her voice steady now. "Yes, really."

They stood there for a moment, the world around them disappearing as they shared an unspoken promise. A new beginning. Their hands found each other, fingers intertwining in that perfect moment.

Kyla, watching from a distance, felt like her world had shattered completely. She couldn’t look at them. She couldn’t stand to see them so happy when she was dying inside. Tears blurred her vision as she turned and fled, running out of the cinema and into the night.

She needed to be alone. She needed to find some way to breathe, to stop the pain. The weight of everything crushed her as she walked through the streets, a quiet storm in her heart.

Kyla knew, deep down, that this was the end. She was no longer the one Rain needed. And as she walked, the loneliness wrapped around her like a shroud, a painful reminder of the love she had lost.
