Lu Guang let out a small sigh and crossed his arms. “Idiot.”

Cheng Xiaoshi just laughed, completely unfazed. Then, as if he just thought of something, he perked up. “Hey, can I chill at your dorm again? Your room is always so clean, and you have all those interesting books. Way better than my mess.”

Lu Guang gave him a long look before sighing again. “…Fine.”

Cheng Xiaoshi beamed, slinging an arm around Lu Guang’s shoulders. “Knew you’d say yes. Let’s go, Lan Wangji~”

Lu Guang shook him off, muttering something under his breath, but he didn’t stop walking toward his dorm—with Cheng Xiaoshi following right behind, still grinning.

Once they got to Lu Guang’s dorm, Cheng Xiaoshi flopped onto the bed immediately, stretching out like he owned the place. “Man, your room really is always so nice. It’s like stepping into another dimension—organized, peaceful, and completely unlike mine.”

Lu Guang rolled his eyes. “Maybe if you cleaned once in a while, your room wouldn’t be a disaster zone.”

Cheng Xiaoshi ignored that. Instead, he turned onto his side, propping his head up with one hand. “So, what should we do? I could just lie here and do nothing, but that’d be boring. And you wouldn’t like it because I’d end up bothering you.”

Lu Guang sat at his desk, flipping open a book. “Then don’t bother me.”

“Impossible.”

Lu Guang sighed. “Figures.”

After a moment of silence, Cheng Xiaoshi sat up. “Oh! How about we watch something? You’re in the anime club, so you must have some good recommendations.”

Lu Guang considered it. “There’s a new anime I wanted to check out. But if you’re just going to talk through the whole thing, I’m not putting it on.”

“I promise I won’t!” Cheng Xiaoshi said, raising a hand like he was making an oath.

Lu Guang gave him a skeptical look before finally pulling out his laptop. “Fine. But if you get annoying, I’m kicking you out.”

Cheng Xiaoshi grinned. “Deal.”

With that, they settled in, the laptop screen glowing softly in the dim room. Cheng Xiaoshi sat close—maybe a little closer than necessary—but Lu Guang didn’t say anything.

And for once, Cheng Xiaoshi actually stayed quiet. Not because he wasn’t tempted to joke around, but because sitting here, just like this, was… kind of nice.

As the anime played, Cheng Xiaoshi leaned back against Lu Guang’s bed, watching the screen with a relaxed expression. The story was simple—just a girl slowly falling in love with a boy at school, filled with small, everyday moments that somehow felt meaningful.

By the time the episode ended, Cheng Xiaoshi stretched and let out a sigh. “Man… that was kinda nice.”

Lu Guang glanced at him. “You actually sat through it without complaining. Impressive.”

Cheng Xiaoshi chuckled. “Yeah, yeah. I guess even I can appreciate a good romance sometimes.” He stared up at the ceiling for a moment, then sighed again. “Kinda makes me wish I had a romance like that.”

Lu Guang, still sitting at his desk, tilted his head. “What exactly do you like about that kind of romance?”

Cheng Xiaoshi blinked at him, then thought for a moment. “Hmm… I guess I like the simplicity of it. You know, how they just… get each other. They bicker, they tease, but at the end of the day, they always want to be around each other. It’s not about big dramatic gestures—it’s about the little things.”

Lu Guang hummed, considering his words. “So, you like the idea of a relationship where someone just naturally fits into your life?”

Cheng Xiaoshi nodded. “Yeah, exactly.” Then he laughed. “But I don’t think I’ll get anything like that anytime soon.”

Lu Guang was silent for a moment before quietly saying, “You never know.”

Cheng Xiaoshi turned to look at him, surprised. “Huh? What’s that supposed to mean?”

Lu Guang simply shrugged, eyes still on the laptop screen. “Nothing.”

Cheng Xiaoshi narrowed his eyes at him but decided to let it go. “Whatever you say, Lan Wangji…”

Lu Guang sighed. “Stop calling me that.”

Cheng Xiaoshi just laughed, but his heart felt a little lighter.
