Angelo came into the library, where I was hanging out.

"Nice work, brother," he said. "I'm proud of you."

"Thanks," I replied.

"Seokmin also told me that you found one of the guys from the Donatto camp at the club and you took him out," Angelo said.

"It felt damned good, too," I said. "That was something I had been dreaming about doing for a very long time. But I'm not done. I'm going to keep looking for ways to get back at them for the hell they put me through."

"You let me know how I can help."

"Of course. I will," I told him.

"You're turning out to be a regular gangster. Keep this shit up, you'll have a title, a salary, and a downtown office."

I laughed and shrugged off his praise. Even if I did end up with a title and a salary, I wasn't about to spend time in a downtown office. I'd work right alongside Seokmin, exactly where I belonged.

"Soonyoung's betrayal has everyone shocked," Angelo said. "No one in the world saw that coming. Except for you, that is."

"It helps to look at everything from a different perspective. It also helps when you come from a situation where you don't trust anyone—everybody is suspicious."

"Your research skills are really coming in handy. You're a true asset," Angelo praised. Then his phone beeped and he said, "Shit. I have another meeting I've got to get to. I have to talk to the authorities about the warehouse where the gun deal went down. They're done with the crime scene investigation but don't want to release it back to the family."

"All in a day's work, right brother?" I smirked, knowing he'd work his legal magic and everything would be fine. Seokmin didn't seem worried at all, just pissed the fuck off. I couldn't blame him. I felt the same.

Angelo gave me a devilish grin and said, "The good thing is, Seokmin has the senator–not to mention several other political asshats–in his pocket. As we speak, they're putting the pressure on the feds to drop the case. So hopefully, this will all be taken care of today."

"And the guns?"

My brother gave an uncharacteristic snort. "As luck would have it, the feds fucked things up and misplaced the weapons. I heard General Santos is a very satisfied customer. With no chain of evidence, and only Soonyoung's tip leading them to the warehouse, they don't have a legal leg to stand on. Heads are gonna roll in the upper echelons of the FBI and AFT, that's for sure. Fuck, I love my job. Even if I have to do a ton of hand holding and meet with everyone to smooth out the details, it's worth every second."

I couldn't help but grin at the machinations of my brother and the Lupo family. "Oh to be a fly on the wall of the feds' offices tonight."

We both had a good chuckle at that and hugged before he headed out.

Running my fingers through my hair, I thought about what I should do next. I was pretty pissed at the world and was ready to take down every motherfucker who had hurt me or anyone close to me.

After grabbing a snack, I got back online. I wasn't surprised to see that DarkGhost was on one of the sites that I frequent.

"You've been a busy boy, Obsidian," he messaged.

"Just taking care of business," I replied.

"Your skills have a few people nervous," DarkGhost informed me.

"They should have left me alone. I wouldn't have messed with them, even if I knew things they didn't want me to know. However, they fucked with me and Seokmin, so I'm going to do everything in my power to fuck them right back."
