26. Stood up date?

Start from the beginning

"Chhaya seems like a sweet girl." He whispers looking deep in my eyes. His words slow like they were said to pierce my heart.

And pierce my toe they did!

"Shut up, fucker! You didn't know her name just seconds ago." I glare, moving my eyes to him. Just how badly I want to wipe that satisfactory smirk away from his stupid face. I stand up from the chair, walking towards him to tower over him--till he decides to stand up, "Waise toh bada tu mera sautan bane ghoomta hai, inn phooljhadiyo se bacha nahi sakta mere maasoom pati ko? Kuch toh kaam aa, nakime insaan!"
{Though you go around acting like my rival, can't you protect my innocent husband from these firecrackers? Do something good, you good for nothing human!"}

I huff out some exhausted breaths, if he has decided to keep on his devil face, there's no way he's going to behave. I leave him to have his fun. Kanjar!

"Why are you here?" I ask leaning my butt against the table, arms crossed on chest.

"I was free," he shrugs casually, as if it's the most logical thing in the world. We both say nothing, and then he parts his lips, leaving the seat and towering over me, "I was at Amrita's clinic with Shea for the shots and she said that you haven't visited her for almost three months now. She needs to check you and see how the hormonal imbalance is going, if it's still the same, she needs to change the diet and meds." Ruffling my hairs, he walks to the door.

"Aur haan, jyada shak kia na mere dost pe, ulta latka dunga." Throwing the threat in my face, he leaves.
{And yes, if you doubt my friend too much, I will hang you upside down.}

Advik has been whining about visiting Amrita for two months now, I have always run away from the conversation because how do I tell him that I didn't take even a single pill from the last dose she gave me? I can bet a million bucks that Advik asked him to talk about this with me because he knows I can never save myself from Sahil. Sahil is the strictest of all when it comes to our health and there's no way we can ignore anything related to it for long under his care.

Moments after he leaves, Hood walks in with a bag in his hand and a smile on his face. "Hey Bhabs," he greets, already spreading out whatever he got for me. Avocado and flaxseeds toast with a huge glass of pomegranate juice from the cafe down the building, my go-to order.

"Obviously his noncaring attitude would be ruined if he had handed this to you himself," Hood gestures at the items on the table, I smile at the closed door.

"His uncaring attitude was ruined the first time he let me join his group for lunch back in sixth-grade." I mumble, my heart warm because of the people I'm surrounded with. Hood waves walking out of the cabin and gently closing the door behind him. I take sips of the freshly squeezed pomegranate juice, soothing both my taste buds and insides instantly.

I dial my husband's number when I get some free time. The call is answered on the third ring, "Sir, is busy in a meeting with Mr. Sahdev." Like a tape recording played, Chhaya says in my ears, instantly ruining my mood.

"Give him the phone, tell him it's me." I mutter, checking my nails.

"Thousands call with the 'it's me' tag, he's not free to answer every 'it's me'." I swear this girl wants to be dead as badly as I want to commit some crime.

"Hm, I'm pretty sure not every 'it's me' is saved as 'meri vohti'--which for your information means 'my wife'."

"He's busy, I'll ask him to call you.' I can feel the irk in her just from hearing myself address as his wife. Such nice feeling, aah!

"Inform him I have booked dinner for us at Trèsind, just the two of us at 8'o clock." Smile breaks out on my face just thinking how this must be ticking her but... poor girl can't do anything.
