The party’s loud music echoes around you as you stumble through the crowded space, your head spinning with each step. Miles is by your side, his strong hand lightly holding your arm to keep you steady as you wobble towards the door.
"Carino, slow down," Miles mutters under his breath, his voice laced with concern as he watches you struggle to keep your balance. You giggle, clearly having a bit too much fun, but Miles knows better.
Your laughter rings out as you bump into people on the way out, completely unaware of your surroundings. He can’t help but smile, the sight of you like this making him laugh despite himself. He always liked when you were carefree, but this was a little too much.
"Babe, let's get you home, alright?" he says, guiding you toward the exit with a soft but firm grip on your wrist.
As you finally step out into the cool night air, you inhale deeply, the fresh air not doing much to help your spinning head. “Ugh, I feel... wobbly…” you murmur, blinking slowly. Miles chuckles, shaking his head, as he helps you sit on a nearby bench for a second.
“You’re fine, just... need a minute?” he asks, crouching in front of you and brushing a strand of hair away from your face. He’s so gentle with you, his tone softer than usual, knowing you’re not in your best state.
You lean back a little, looking up at him with half-lidded eyes. "You look good," you slur, grinning wide. "I wanna keep you forever…" Miles raises an eyebrow and chuckles, shaking his head.
“You’re cute when you're like this, but we gotta get you home,” he replies, standing up and offering you his hand. You hesitantly take it, leaning into him as you rise to your feet, your legs still shaky.
He guides you toward his place, supporting you the whole way, careful to avoid anyone who might get in your way. “You okay?” he asks every few moments, making sure you’re not about to fall over or stumble again.
You stumble a little more, your steps uncoordinated, but Miles is there to catch you each time. He grins, shaking his head, making sure to keep you close.
“Mami, hold on to me tighter, okay?” he says, wrapping an arm around your waist as you cling to him. "I got you, don’t worry.”
As you walk through the door of his apartment, he helps you inside, your body still a little off-balance. You lean on him, resting your head against his shoulder for support. The familiarity of his presence calms you, even though your body feels like it's floating in and out of reality.
Miles doesn’t let you go, guiding you to his couch and gently sitting you down. He watches you with soft, concerned eyes. "Carino, you need to drink some water, okay?" he says, kneeling in front of you, his hands cupping your face.
You blink slowly, your eyes fluttering. “Water?” you mutter, not fully processing what he’s saying. You just lean back into the couch, stretching your arms out in front of you lazily.
"Yes, mami, water," Miles laughs softly, walking to the kitchen and filling a glass for you. When he comes back, he hands it to you. "Here, drink this. It'll help."
You take the glass, but your grip is loose. The water almost spills, but he’s quick to steady it before you can do much damage. "Careful, princesa," he says, helping you take a sip.
After you drink some, Miles sits next to you, adjusting you so your head leans on his shoulder. He wraps an arm around you, holding you close. You snuggle into him, letting out a content sigh.
“I’m so dizzy,” you mumble, eyes half-shut. Miles strokes your hair, still chuckling under his breath.
"I know, I know. You’re gonna be okay, princesa." He kisses your forehead gently, his lips lingering a little longer than usual. "Just rest. I’ll stay right here with you."
You lean into him more, the warmth of his body grounding you, making you feel safer than you had all night. “Thank you…” you whisper, your words slow but sincere.
Miles smiles, a quiet but warm smile. "Anything for you, mami," he whispers, pressing a soft kiss to your temple. "Now, get some sleep. You need it."
He stays with you the whole night, making sure you’re comfortable. You fall asleep leaning against him, your breathing soft and steady, while he watches over you, his arm still around your shoulders, his fingers lightly tracing the back of your hand.
As the night continues, he never lets you go, his eyes occasionally flicking over to make sure you’re okay. He’s not going anywhere. Not now, not ever. You’re safe with him. Always.
