Capital City
Zhao Cheng and Wu Yan rushed out of the Entertainment House. The street was fully crowded with people who came to offer prayers to dragon king.
"Xiao ge, let it go. She is mine and I was born for her. Don't try to win her over when I am here." Yan said resting his palm on his hip.
"You lost something here." Cheng patted on Yan head and said.
"Get it straight xiao Yan, she is more than what she shows. Don't jump into conclusions. I need to find her before another disaster." Cheng said.
"And how you are going to find her. You didn't even see her face" Yan asked with a sarcastic smile. Cheng walked into the crowd without any words.
"You bet xiao ge, I'll get to her before you" Yan said but Cheng had already disappeared in the crowd.
In the middle of the crowd he started to concentrate heightening his sense. There were smells of a million things, rice cakes, candies, pastries, noodles, burning candles, firecracker and even the unique smell of people. In the middle of all this he sensed a faint scent of agarwood.
"There you are" Cheng thought to himself and followed the scent. He came to the far west boundary of the capital which borders with the wild by the Lan Xue river.*
The river is considered sacred by the people, and entering the premises of it late in night was forbidden.
The faint fragrance of the agarwood ended at the river bank. Cheng came to the dead end. He felt equally frustrated and helpless for a moment. Suddenly he sensed someone moving behind.
"Stop right there" Cheng threw his sword on the direction of the movement. He turned to see a man in black outer robe standing near a tree, Cheng's sword pierced on the tree near the man's cheek. Cheng retrieved the sword with his spiritual power and pointed it to the man.
"Who are you, wandering around here at night?" Cheng shouted.
The man turned to him placing his hand in his cheek.(Did you guess who it is. Did you.. Yeah it's him our beloved Bai Tian. His gege only asked him to not to run into any trouble and here he is.)
"Who are you?? I am asking you to speak. Don't have any idea of escaping" anger fumed in Cheng about loosing Qin Zi and now here a man causing him more trouble.
Tian on the other hand let out a soft chuckle and he took his palm of his face and stared on to the blood stain in his hand. A fine line of blood was visible on his face. He started to laugh.
"Escaping, who? Me??" Tian laughed again.
"Not with out making you pay for your deed" Tian said untying his heavy outer rob and his sword passed right past Cheng's face.
Cheng dodged it and turned back to see Tian up close to his face as close as their noses to touch each other. Before registering what just happened, Cheng felt a sudden blast of energy on his chest which pushed him back.
Tian pulled out his sword from the near tree. He stood bathed under the bright moon in his shiny white hanfu like a fairy, even with that furious face. Cheng felt a sudden pang in his heart watching Tian, it felt like a reminiscent of a painful memory which is long forgotten.
As Cheng lost his sense for a moment, Tian sprang from a rock, his sword slicing through the air with a soft whoosh. Cheng parried the blow, but Tian's attack had been a feint. With a swift kick, Tian sent Cheng stumbling back into the river.
