But it didn't slow him down.
Scourge's armor absorbed the blast like it was nothing more than a gentle breeze. The impact barely made a dent. He turned slowly, looking at Megatron with an eerie, twisted smile.
The laugh that escaped Scourge was pure evil, the sound reverberating through the chaos. He looked at Megatron with pity, his optics glowing brighter in mock sympathy.
"You think a little blast like that can hurt me?" Scourge taunted, his voice a mocking growl. "I'm indestructible now, Megatron. Nothing you do can stop me."
Scourge turned back toward Orion Eclipse, his every movement slow and deliberate, savoring the fear radiating off the young Decepticon.
"Don't think I forgot about you," Scourge sneered, as he began to stalk toward Orion Eclipse. "I think it's time for you to meet your end."
Orion Eclipse was frozen in place, his processor unable to process the imminent danger. The fear clouded his thoughts, and his legs refused to move. His optics were locked onto the massive figure of Scourge coming toward him, and his spark pounded in his chest.
"Please..." Orion whispered, barely a sound, as he took a shaky step back. "Don't..."
But Scourge was unrelenting. "You're his son. You're his legacy. You think he's going to protect you? He couldn't even protect himself from me. No one can stop me now."
As Scourge took another step forward, Megatron's voice boomed with renewed fury.
"ORION!! GET OUT OF HERE!!!" he shouted. His tone was sharp, commanding. The pain in his voice—so raw—was unmistakable. "NOW!!!"
Scourge paused, his gaze still fixed on Orion Eclipse. The two locked optics for a moment.
"Go, Orion!" Megatron roared, his words filled with desperation.
With a final, tremulous glance toward his father, Orion Eclipse turned and bolted. His legs carried him as fast as they could go, but his spark clenched with the terror of leaving his father to face this monster alone.
Scourge's optics glinted darkly, and in that instant, he lunged. With a single strike, he tossed Megatron aside as though he were nothing more than a ragdoll. Megatron landed hard on the ground, his frame bruised and weakened, unable to stop Scourge from finishing what he had started.
Scourge's gaze flicked to Orion for a moment, but then his attention returned to Megatron. The anger and hatred in Scourge's optics flared as he moved toward his prey.
"This time," Scourge hissed, "I'm finishing this once and for all."
The sounds of battle raged around them, the air crackling with tension, when a new voice broke through the chaos.
"COME OVER HERE, YOU SON OF A GLITCH!!!"
Scourge barely had time to react before a sharp, gleaming dagger came hurtling toward him, striking his shoulder with a satisfying *thunk*. With a snarl, Scourge staggered back and released Megatron from his grip, the Decepticon leader slamming to the ground with a crash.
The figure who had thrown the dagger stepped forward with fiery determination—Ultrawave, his optics burning with fury as he glared at Scourge.
"I should have just killed you when I found you!" Scourge sneered, his voice dripping with venom. His hand shot out, grabbing Ultrawave by the arm. He pulled the younger Decepticon toward him, lifting him off the ground. "But I guess we're making up for lost time, aren't we?"
Before Scourge could do anything else, Ultrawave reached into his subspace and pulled out an EMP grenade, tossing it directly at Scourge's feet.
The grenade exploded with a crackling pulse, sending an electromagnetic shockwave through the air. Scourge flinched as his systems shorted out, his body locking up in a wave of disorientation. The giant Decepticon stumbled, disoriented but not yet down.
