Chapter 5: An Unexpected Meeting

Start from the beginning

Elita-1 returned home after a long day of work, expecting to find Altair and B-127 watching HoloVids or bickering as usual. Instead, she was met with silence.

She frowned. "Altair?"

No response.

Then she spotted B-127 sprawled across the couch, snoring loudly. Elita-1 approached, her optics narrowing as she shook him. "B, wake up."

B-127 groaned, mumbling something about being the greatest scout in Autobot history before lazily opening one optic. "Mmm... huh? Oh, hey, Elita..."

Elita-1 placed her hands on her hips. "Where's Altair?"

At that, B-127 sat up abruptly, his drowsiness evaporating. He scanned the room, then rubbed his helm. "Uh... she was just here..." His optics widened. "Wait a second—she gave me a drink earlier, and then... oh, scrap."

Realization hit Elita-1 like a shockwave. "You fell asleep?"

Before B-127 could scramble for an excuse, Elita-1 activated her commlink. "Optimus, we have a problem. Altair isn't home."

Optimus Prime had been in the middle of an important discussion with Ultra Magnus and the other Autobot leaders when Elita-1's urgent transmission came through.

He wasted no time. "I am needed elsewhere," he said to the council before immediately heading for the exit.

By the time he arrived home, Elita-1 and B-127 were already searching frantically. B-127, still groggy from the effects of the sleeping medicine, explained what had happened.

"She must've drugged me," he groaned, rubbing his helm. "I should've known she was up to something!"

Optimus's expression darkened. "She left the house on her own." His optics flickered with concern before shifting to determination. "Then we must find her—before it's too late."

Without hesitation, he issued an emergency alert to the Autobots. They would launch a search party at once.

Meanwhile, Altair Comet stared in awe as the train emerged onto the surface world. Through the gaps in the cargo containers, she saw vast metallic landscapes stretching as far as the optic could see. Jagged mountains of scrap, ancient ruins, and abandoned Energon mines littered the terrain.

It was both breathtaking and eerie.

When the train finally came to a stop at an old outpost, Altair carefully slipped out, avoiding the conductor's watchful optics. She transformed and drove off into the wilderness, eager to explore this new world.

But the deeper she ventured, the more she realized how truly vast and desolate it was.

She was alone. And worse—she was lost. As she continued forward, the terrain became rougher, the sky overhead dimmer. Strange structures loomed in the distance, and an ominous energy filled the air. What Altair didn't realize was that she was heading straight toward the border of the Badlands.

And beyond that?

Kaon.

The stronghold of the Decepticons.

Little did she know, she was about to step into enemy territory—and into a danger far greater than she had ever imagined.

Optimus Prime stood in the command center of the Autobot base, his expression grave. Before him, his trusted warriors—Ultra Magnus, Bulkhead, Ironhide, and Arcee—listened intently as he relayed the troubling news.
