𝗥𝗨𝗗𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗦𝗛"Please, sign here, Mr. Chauhan" Mr. Mehta's voice broke my trance, luring me back into the reality.
I glanced down at the paper displayed infront of me, ready to determine my future, a future which I'll have to share with a certain someone.
Sighing internally, I encouraged myself silently to choose the wise decision and finish this already.
After all, it was inevitable.
So, I quickly took the pen from Mr. Mehta's hand, scanning the contents briefly before signing the papers.
"Here" I asserted calmly, not giving a hint to the people infront of me about the turmoil coiling on my insides.
"And for you, Ms. Agarwal, please sign here, and there too" He repeated the same procedure for Siya, who studied the papers clearly before signing in.
"That was it, congratulations for your marriage Mr. And Mrs. Chauhan, you are officially a couple now" Mr. Mehta exclaimed excitedly, clapping his hands just in a beat to express his congratulation.
While on the other hand, I stole a glance at her, who was trying hard not to snap at the lawyer whom she thought as a honourable and respectable figure.
After completing rest of the formalities, we bid our goodbye to Mr. Mehta, who was surprisingly, the only one happy with this reunion.
Only if he knew about both of our opinions on this.
Nevertheless, one can find joy over other's doom too, isn't is?
Calling of a doom, I remembered about the situation I was stuck in.
Really, a wife, huh?
"I assume he is still single" a voice quipped from behind, earning a confused look from me.
Yeah, my wife.
"Whyever you think so?" I found myself asking, seeing her standing near the sofa, an unreadable expression itched onto her face.
Shrugging at my words, she picked up the contents from the table, taking slowly yet deliberate steps towards me.
Meanwhile I, was analysing her each moment with my calculated mind, running over the pros and cons of her actions thoroughly.
When she finally approached, she handled the files to me, her gaze pinned on it.
"Here, keep them with you" she placed the files in my hand, lifting her eyes, she arched a brow perfectly at my direction, "What are you gaping at?"
I was shaken off momentarily, however, I pulled back my neutral composure, closing my jaw which was hung open during this little encounter.
I passed her my best glare as she cocked her head with the most obvious look.
"Nothing" I replied, clearing my throat to diffuse the silence lapsed between us.
"I see" she nodded her head in an understanding manner, her voice piqued with hollowness I had never witnessed before.
"Yes" I blurted, lost in my own theories, not really paying attention to her already retreating figure.
Touchwood, it was one of the rarest moment where I had exchanged a normal conversation with her which seemed far more absurd than normal.
I mean, we have certainly been professional but never in my life I had imagined that I'll be facing her as someone who is my companion, my other half.
Even after that, I have never thought of speaking with her in my code, cold and detached.
