Lucy's POV

Tim had been going through a rough patch with his job recently. He shot someone saving a kids life and they ended up dying. He has been questioned and questioned and I can tell that he is getting fed up. Today he has to go into the court infront of a judge to be questioned about his judgement. I put on a long flowy dress and did my hair and makeup. Tim was fighting with his tie, I walked over to help him.
Lucy: hey it's okay
Tim: why can they not understand I didn't have a choice
Lucy: i don't know baby but Grey and Angela have your back. Even commander West. They are probably just trying to cover their asses
Tim: thank you
Lucy: it's okay to be okay.. okay?

I put a hand on his cheek and kissed him before we were off to the court. He was questioned and questioned. and then came THE question..

Lawyer: so you recently started dating the now turned supermodel Lucy Chen right?
Tim: no not recently, we've been together for about a year and a half.
Lawyer: okay, so she in high school when you met?
Tim: *he paused and took a breath* Yes.
Lawyer: so you as a 30 year old are okay dating a 20 year old
Tim: what are you implying?
Lawyer: all im asking if you think you used your best judgement through this relationship when she was 19 and you were 29. because if you ask me, it sounds pretty reckless.

Grey and Angela turned to look at me. I kept a straight face.

Grey: he does not want to go there
Angela: nope..

Tim: so you are asking me if i regret the relationship i'm in right now? if i think I made a mistake getting into one with her.
Lawyer: exactly that. Looking through your file it seems like you are the perfect cop.. until you get to a year and a half ago.. when you met Lucy Chen.
Tim: if you are implying that Lucy has made me a "dirty" cop you are wrong. Our relationship was completely legal and completely mutual. We both struggled with if it was okay but our feelings for each other surpassed that. You are not going to sit there and diminish my girlfriend in front of me, in front of her and in front of my coworkers. We love each other, probably more than you will ever experience. Don't you ever accuse my relationship as a mistake again. *Lucy smirked slightly*
Lawyer: I'm sorry but it seems like this would have never happened in the past and look where you are now?
Tim: I made a choice. It was between the kid or the man that was trying to kill him. You. are not a cop. You have no IDEA. what i have been struggling with since. but that kid is alive and with his mother today because of me. You have no right to sit there judging if i am a "good cop" when you have no idea about police work. If you can't see that I had to shoot that man to save that kids life..then I guess fire me. because i don't want to work for a city that can't understand I was saving a life.

He got off the stand and grabbed my hand and walked out of the court room. It was kind of hot, but in that moment I knew that is not what mattered

Lucy: hey, hey.. slow down
Tim: they think they can really pull that bullshit? Call into question our relationship? I love you. you know that right. I love us.
Lucy: i know that baby, i know *he kissed her passionately*
Tim: will you marry me?
Lucy: what? *she laughed*
Tim: marry me Lucy, I have never been so sure about someone in my entire life. I have been waiting for the perfect moment to ask but i'm realizing now that there is no perfect moment.. so Lucy Chen.. will you marry me?

I was stunned. I took a few seconds to respond as he searched my face for an answer.

Lucy: of course i'll marry you

He smiled so big and picked me up to kiss me.

Tim: I might lose my job but at least I have you
Lucy: you aren't going to lose your job Tim
Tim: maybe .. but if i do.. let's travel. together. There are so many places I want to go,
Lucy: okay, we'll talk about it.

He was so fired up. We got to the house where he pulled the ring out of a spot I never would have been able to reach. He slid it on my finger and I admired it for some time.

Tim: i'm sorry it wasn't a fancy proposal but I was scared I would never ask in fear of rejection..
Lucy: why would I say no
Tim: i don't know..
Lucy: well i said yes, and we are going to get married *she said excitedly*

-5 hours later, Tim's phone rang-

Tim: hello?.. yes sir.. mhm.. i understand.. thank you.. mhm.. understand.. okay..

Lucy: what? what happened?
Tim: the judge doesn't think I was in the wrong but thinks i need some time off. so they have given me a month of paid time off to do lord know what..
Lucy: how do you feel about eloping in Greece?

Tim looked at me and smiled. He pulled out his computer and we booked a flight at the end of the week. I texted my manger to let her know and she was on it to find me a wedding dress.

We arrived in Greece..two days into our trip we got married. It was magical, intimate. The sex that night was incredible. After our month in Greece, Tim decided he wasn't ready to go back to work so we moved on to Italy. I picked up a shoot here and there just to keep up with my job. We traveled and traveled. Tim had made the decision he was done working for now. Grey promised him there would always be an open spot for him. We had 2 kids during our adventures and we eventually came back to LA to settle down. We were both incredibly happy and it was all because I fell in love with someone 10 years older than me
