Jungkook raised a brow, irritation flickering across his face. "Just pick up the damn phone."
Bogum hesitated before answering. "Hello... Tae?"
At that name, Jungkook’s head snapped up. His grip on the glass tightened.
"Yup, what is it? Are you okay?" Bogum asked.
Through the phone, Taehyung’s soft voice filtered into the room. "Gummie, you forgot your lunch box... I'll be there to give it to you."
Bogum sighed. "No, honey, it's okay. You don’t have to come here. I’ll eat at the canteen."
"No, Mr. Husband, you can’t. You know how unhealthy the food is there. I won’t allow you to eat that garbage."
"But—"
"No buts! I'm coming."
The line went dead.
Bogum sighed heavily and looked up to meet Jungkook’s piercing gaze. He shifted uncomfortably under the scrutiny. "I'm sorry, boss, it's just—"
"Is Tae coming here?" Jungkook cut him off, his voice eerily calm.
Bogum blinked. "Huh?"
Jungkook stepped forward. "Taehyung. Is he coming here?"
Bogum hesitated before nodding. "Yes, he’s coming... Why—"
Before he could finish, Jungkook's voice cut through the air like a whip.
"Get out."
Bogum didn’t question it. He turned on his heel and left the office as quickly as possible, closing the door behind him.
The moment he was alone, Jungkook tapped his foot anxiously before grabbing his phone. "Secretary Jung."
"Yes, boss?"
"I want the whole building spotless. Have it cleaned from top to bottom. Put fresh flowers at the entrance—white roses. Only white roses."
There was a slight pause on the other end before Hoseok responded, "Understood. Anything else?"
Jungkook ran a hand through his hair, his voice softening. "Also... spray vanilla and strawberry fragrance everywhere."
Hoseok nearly dropped his phone. He had worked for Jungkook for years, but never had he seen the man sound so... excited. It was unsettling.
"Boss... is someone coming?" Hoseok ventured carefully.
"Now go. Fast, fast! Quick!" Jungkook snapped, urgency laced in his voice.
Hoseok nodded, already moving to follow orders. But just as he reached the door, Jungkook called out again.
"Secretary Jung."
"Yes, boss?"
Jungkook hesitated, then ran a hand down the lapel of his suit, his gaze flickering to the full-length mirror. "How... how do I look? Is this suit okay? Or should I wear something else? Something more expensive?"
Hoseok stared at him, wide-eyed. Was this really the same Jeon Jungkook? The cold, ruthless tycoon?
"You look good, Mr. Jeon."
Jungkook exhaled sharply. "Am I? Okay... you can go."
As Hoseok left, Jungkook turned toward the mirror, inspecting himself closely.
"Should I change to black...? My Tae liked black on me..."
He hummed to himself before shaking his head. "Yeah. I should. Secretary Jung has no fashion sense."
